Applied on 30th September, got PPR today. Eligibility review was done sometime between Oct 5-Oct 8. It was my first application
Just to summarize my application timeline:
Sept 30 - Sent application online via GCKey
Oct 8 - Eligibility review
Oct 22 - PPR
Oct 22 - Passport sent by xpresspost to CPC Ottawa
Oct 25 - Delivered to CPC Ottawa
Oct 27 - Counterfoil issued as per GCKey portal
Oct 29 - Passport sent
Nov 1 - Passport received

It seems that during eligibility review itself, they approve the application since my TRV shows it was issued on October 8
Hope this helps ...

TRV Update
Passport sent on 22nd Oct
Passport received on 26th Oct
Account update on 29th Oct around 11 am,
Document/visa issued.
Canada Post link not activated yet.
Hope this helps someone in understanding the estimate of Passport sending.
Will update again as soon as Passport received back to me.
Did your Canada Post link got activated ?

The reason was: Client(s) has already applied for a Temporary Resident Visa application under the same category. IRCC urges applicants not to submit multiple applications. Multiple applications filed by clients causes difficulties in processing, resulting in confusion for the client and the local office, and increased status inquiries to the Call Centre.
But i don't know why the previous application was cancelled, cause it shows the same reason
Hey did you mention in your LOE that this is your second application and there is a policy that people who applied before 7 th september need to reapply https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...rvices/coronavirus-covid19/visitors/visa.html

I just re-read the September 7 policy about re-applying for TRV: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and visitors to Canada: Visitor visa applications
Specifically Reasons to Travel:

  • you’re travelling for one of the following reasons:
    • [...]
    • to visit for business (meeting, special event, training)
    • [...]

Since we're working in Canada, I'm not sure if we can interpret this as Business Purpose and therefore, eligible to re-apply. I know it's not mentioned in the bracket but it sounds the same.

That policy is not applicable to inside Canada TRV applicants. We don't meet any of those conditions.
I had asked this question to cic representative and they said it applies to us as well. did any one try to reach ircc in this case?

Yes, I did ask them and they asked me not to reapply but just wait..
I thought it made sense since those conditions don't apply to us.
