Hi All,

I have a situation and was wondering if anyone went through the same situation.

I am working in canada and recently received my work permit extension (New work permit with new Validity date). But I had to travel to India due to medical emergency and had no time and mental state to apply for TRV at that time. My wife (PHD student) and Son (Canadian Citizen) are in Canada.

Now, I am in India with an expired TRV and have already applied for new TRV (work) from India few days back. The processing time says 19 days, And I've raised a webform (got a response as well) requesting to kindly consider my situation and assist me on this. And I plan to contact local MP (canada) as I've read and heard that that might be helpful.

I know it is unpredictable, but just wanted to know if anyone has gone through such situations in the past. Do you have any timeline? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Processing times are just an estimate and most times it takes a lot longer than the posted times. MPs can find out status but cannot force a decision. So nothing much you can do but wait.

I applied on 12th May. Since I'm outside side canada, I raised a webform to transfer my files to india visa office so that there is no delay in processing. When you are outside canada, you need to inform the ircc about you being an outland applicant to avoid any delays (mentioned in ircc website).

Today(midnight), I got a response from ircc I saw my file has been updated with my biometric number and validity along with the UCI number, initially it only had the visa application number and the other sections were blank. I'll take that as some progress. Hopefully we get our PPR soon.

I'm planning to contact the MP for our location (canada) in few days asking for any sort of help they can provide on this matter. No harm in trying.

How about you? Have you raised a webform or tried contacting ircc? Have you received any updates?
