I'm a Canadian citizen currently residing in Canada sponsoring my Indian wife who is in India. We're in process of applying for her PR from Canada but I plan on going to India to stay with her while the application is being processed. Will this cause a problem?

I've been residing in Canada for past 18 years and plan on living in Canada with my wife once she gets her PR. For the question on the checklist, "Are you (the sponsor) a Canadian Citizen living outside Canada?", Should I answer this question Yes and attach a document explaining my plan on spending 5-7 months in India.

When are you planning to travel to India ? if it is later this year, why dont you apply the PR earlier.

Yes, so the plan is to apply now. Stay for a month or two, wait for first step to complete (assessment of sponsor) and then stay in India while we wait for process to complete. And then come to Canada with my wife. I've a job in Toronto and will be working from India during my stay.

My question is, do I have to let CIC know now when I'm applying or when I'm staying in India about this plan?
