Traveling back to Canada Through USA?

Hey Guys its me again sorry for all the questions. Last one I promise. Does my wife with she comes back up from Mexico with her Temporary Visa have to fly direct to Vancouver? Or can she make stops in US in connection to Vancouver? Does the Canadian Temporary Visa allow her to go through US in transit to Vancouver? Im just asking so see if we can save a few dollars or have to fly from Guadalajara to Mexico City then direct to Vancouver? Thanks all

What are you referring to when you say "temporary visa"? Do you mean her PR/landing visa?

A Canadian visa carries no authority / rights when it comes to the US. Your wife will need to apply for a US visa if she wants to enter or transit through the US.

The canadian landing visa is for entry into canada only. it has no bearing on your right to enter the US, if you already have a visa for the us then yes she can transit through the us, but the canadian visa or PR does not give you that access / right.

Believe me, we looked at getting a 'transit visa' for this very purpose. We ended up avoiding any connections at all going through the U.S.
