I would like to know if my fiancé needs travel insurance when applying for a visitor visa to Canada ...he intends to stay for two weeks.

He doesn't need it but it would be stupid to travel here without any insurance.

As above. However, depending on payment method used or other conditions of credit card ownership, there may be travel insurance provided already. Check the cardholder agreement for this possibility.

as I know having a insurance is good for applicant but this is not going to have any plus point for TRV (in my case simple visit visa).

But yes i got my standard travel insurance (for 30 days) before traveling.

got me I apply and secure , just in case if I face any medical issue during my visit.
