Hello everyone,

I would like some advice on translating documents to English.

My marriage certificate just came in and ready to be picked up but it is not in English.

There was an option to have it translate in English from the origin country where the marriage certificate was certified and registered.

I'm not too sure if the immigration officer would accept the translated document that is from another country.

What would I need to do if the document needs to be translated properly? Can someone give me the procedures from start to finish. And where I can get it translated.

All you have to do is search online for translation services in your area. Depending on your/your spouse’s country of origin it may need to be notarized/certified. When I got my husband’s birth certificate translated they asked me first if it needed to be certified, and this satisfied the requirement for documents to be certified true copies, if that applies to you. There are also online services but in my experience they were more expensive than getting it from somewhere local. Good luck! :)
