Hi CPA,

I have a colleague who applied under FSW last July 2008 and she also worked in Saudi a few years back. She tried to get a police clearance from Saudi and was told by the Saudi Embassy here in Abu Dhabi that they do not issue police clearances. She then forwarded this information to the immigration consultant and was told that CIC knows that Saudi will not issue police clearances so there was no need for her to get one.

If this is true, then maybe you do not need to submit a saudi police clearance. Ask around about this.

saudi do not give police clearance to non-residents. this is why they said so to your friend. since the OP is currently working and residing in saudi, he will have to produce one.

as long as the Affidavit for Translator is concerned, i'm not sure about that. let some one having the correct answer reply.

Seniors pls advise - TRANSLATED DOCS - AFFIDAVIT of Translator Required?

guys....did you submit anything other than the translated documents? Already have the translated one but in the guidelines they specifically mention the following

Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:

the English or French translation; and;
an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
a certified copy of the document.
Note: An affidavit is a document on which the translator has sworn, in the presence of a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the translator is living, that the contents of their translation are a true translation and representation of the contents of the original document
.

Please advise as the translator here in Saudi Arabia do not know about this affidavit and they are not willing to assist.

Thanks

Here is a solution for yours you need to carry out this task from some government recognized translation service provider. They have authority for providing affidavit.

hi, they must be doing this for a fee, so no help -> no fee, you can search other translator. I asked translator to include text (they type translation anyway) that the xlation is true, correct and complete. Translator is duly licensed to translate in both English and [local language], sworn and ...[forgot text]. please seek further advice from other forum members

I got my Saudi Police Clearance Certificate.

Translation of documents
Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:

the English or French translation; and
an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
a certified copy of the original document.
Note: An affidavit is a document on which the translator has sworn, in the presence of a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the translator is living, that the contents of their translation are a true translation and representation of the contents of the original document. Translators who are certified members in good standing of one of the provincial or territorial organizations of translators and interpreters of Canada do not need to supply an affidavit.

I went to translation office (they have stamped & Chamber of commerce Number) and translated the documents but they did not provide me the an affidavit from the person who completed the translation.

What should I do? Please help me. To those who experienced the same situation w/ me please give an advice the best thing I must do.

The translator I went to provided me with an acknowledgement saying that the translation is true, but does not attest to the content of the original being true. Someone helped me get these translations, so I will have to go myself and ask if they can provide True Copy certificate too.

If you're in Jeddah, the location of this translator is close to the crossing of Gharnata and Siteen. And the name of the office is Arkan Al Hijaz.

Dear wo403,

For those applying from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia:
Please advice me about the translations you aquired without an affidavit, I had the same response from Arkan al Hijaz, they did not attest the copy as true copy of original.
Also, do i have to get the Chamber of commerce attestation and Ministry of Foreign Affairs attestation on these translations for CIC?
Please advice.

Hi AMAH,

I hope the following link help you.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/experience-of-applying-from-saudi-arabia-t182003.0.html;msg3154360#msg3154360

If my memory serves me right, My iqama was the only document I got attested. The other documents were only translated and not further attested even though the lady at the Jeddah consulate told me to.

Let me know if that helps.

Jazakallah,
Excellent information, in both forum replies.
Just out of curosity, why did you apply through the Abu Dhabi visa office and not London, and what profession are you applying with, in FSW?
I was going to apply as a Specialist Physician (3111) but the ECV report I received from the MCC is only for my MD, Medical degree, no mention of my Speciality, I wonder if the CIC may object to that or should I apply as a General Practioner (3112).
Best Regards

Waaiyaakum,

My apologies if I mislead you in any way, I applied for a family visa where my wife (being a Canadian citizen) is sponsoring me.

I had the choice between Islamabad office or Abu Dhabi, latter has a quicker timeline so I chose to go with them.

After translation, you need to get it attested by the Chamber of Commerce. That will do the job. I did it and now I am already a PR.

Since the Canadian Consulate Jeddah recommended the same, I would say that is probably the right path.

I didn't do it, but I still got my PPR without any issues, Alhumdulillah.

Thanks for all the valuable advice,
I still have a question, might sound weird : should I send the original translated document or have that photocopied and attested as a true copy of original.
I'm still having problems getting the translated documents attested as a true copy of original, tomorrow morning I'm headed to the Canadian Consulate in Jeddah, lets see if they will attest the copies already attached and translated elsewhere!

I Would appreciate if I could get some advice and discuss about this with somebody in Saudi, my cell: 0504641587
