It is all so random!

I called CIC yesterday and they mentioned that they will not tell me any update till it is not 30 days from the day photos were received. It is so so sad that we are being made to go through all this. I am afraid they will come back after 30 days that the photos are not right and please resend.

Hi Zanny,

When you call CIC them you applied on so-and-so date but still did not receive PR card, they will take your details and verify your status, do not mention them about your new request of photos.if they check your status it will be either of these statuses
1. new photos requested(you already might have sent them but still they can find this status only because they wont update status if your photos reached)
2. PR card sent to production or PR card mailed to you

Normally you will receive PR card in 2 to 3 weeks after sending your photos.

Can you give some tips on how to persuade the agent?

Please don't tell the Agent about your new photo request, just tell him you applied on so-and-so date and you didn't receive PR card , then they will verify status .

Hey everyone, I landed on 19th July 2016, and finally I received my pr card today on 26 August 2016. I did not expect this at all. at first i saw a mail in my mail box and it looks like a regular mail, i thought it was a resubmit photo mail. BUT IT'S A PR CARD ATTACHED IN THE MAIL...

Photo request sent in April.
New photos sent to Syndney on 25 April.
PR card received 26 August (6 months after landing).

Hi all

Just sent hubby round to the mailbox after seeing this post - and our PR cards have arrived!!! Soooo excited and relieved this process is now complete. Now to wait a couple of years before starting the citizenship process

Hang on in there, ours only arrived yesterday which was exactly 42 days since we landed. Yours could arrive Monday!

Yes they are. you already have PR status after landing and are fully entitled to all you should be.

PR card is mainly for ID and travel.

Just called CIC and the agent was really nice. She asked if I had received communication since i landed so I told her i had the photo request and my photos were delivered on the 5th Aug.

She then took more info and told me my card was mailed on the 23rd. So i'll keep checking this week.

I called an hour back and really sweet agent picked the call. Same as yours - she asked if i got some communication and i told i had a photo request. She gave me all the details:

1. Spouse PR has been despatched.
2. Mine is under processing and should be dispatched before 5th Sep.
