Hello
This is not the exact forum to ask but it has some similar background to get a visa or a tourism visa. I have been trying to get visas and people have been giving the wireds forms... in one embassy they asked me to buy a plain ticket before the visa, besides the weird and bizarre behavior... well the thing is you go to a institution that supposed to serve the public and the service is terrible, that along is a violation of the rights of a citizen... second weird thing is asking you ridiculous things like birth certificate, your bank statement (that is not to weird)... in the past if an embassy did not wanted to give you a visa they just let you feel an application form and just deny, but now days I get people screaming from outside the embassy and talking weird, interviews that are never done, salary statement ... this days I get weird treatment... where exactly you complain in an embassy when you think something is wrong or does not ad up...

The official information on how to apply for a tourism visa is here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/apply-how.asp

It is normal to provide a bank statement and salary statement in tourism visa applications since this demonstrates that you have strong ties to your home country and also proves you have enough money to pay for your visit to Canada. It is also a good idea to include proof of any property you own. It is not mandatory to include a plane ticket - but if you have one it can help to get an approval.

Went to the USA Embassy to apply for a visa. Stood in line for 3 hours waiting my turn. Then got to the window for the interview.
They looked at my passport and saw I have been in the USA before. Asked a few questions and 5 minutes later my visa was granted. EASY.
The Canadians that is a nightmare what a bunch of @holes

I prefer to submit my application online and spend 10 minutes aprox for doing that and then another 10 minutes to drop my passport at CanadaPost than to be visiting an embassy, wasting three hours of my life to see the immigration officer face and explain why I am worth of visiting their country.

It is a matter of preference, as always :)

10 minutes to drop your passport? you really got connections with VOs in canada then,,,people cant even log in to their account and your passport is requested in 10 minutes?
at least going to an embassy you see a REAL PERSON ,,someone who lets you at least TALK and demostrate why youre worth letting into the country,,unlike canada takes your app online you never see them and they just say a big NO.how do i know they even looked at my app?

Who said CIC requested it in 10 minutes?

And yes, last time I submitted a TRV application it took around 10-15 minutes (of course this was the 5th time I request one so I know how it all works). It is not about connections, it is about understanding the process and what is expected from your documents.
