What some people also seem to miss is that complaining can be constructive. If we all sit back and accept poor service and wear a happy face then poor service will become the norm. Any improvements in services, law, and citizens rights comes from complaints and protest. So people who don't like complaints or don't want to see them, then scroll by them. As for CIC, MPs and the government in general, they will not change until the people demand it. So don't tell people they have no right to complain. Just watch how accommodating the government will get when the next election rolls around.

I agree with all, even the last post. Some of the complaining is (ahem) annoying . . . to the point that posts from certain aliases I avoid reading. Unless I'm curious about that topic and am thinking "what the heck is he/she on about now . . . "
And yes I've wondered if they have a look and how often, AND MAYBE due to the fact I haven't complained even a peep that they wonder 'hey maybe that application isn't genuine' . . . get my drift?
HAhaha this made me laugh. You and me both!

Dr Eng X, anyone?

Even though this topic was brought back from the dead, I find it very interesting that you post this following your visa issuance, whereas if one looks at your post history before October 2012, they will not only find the positiveness you espouse, but find you complaining and expressing both doubt and negativity about the timeline/process.

You'd have a lot more validity in your post had you not been a hypocrite and doing what you are telling others not to do (those who do so for rather valid reasons, even if they are irrational sometimes), and if you had not decided to post this at the most convenient of times.. after you're finished.

I had virtually no problems during the process myself, and while I find some good in the message of staying positive, the gravity and uncertainty of the situation logically will make people uneasy. Rather than being up on a pedestal, try and actually put people's minds at ease by helping them with information instead of preaching from the pulpit like a hypocrite.
@Bargeld - your comments and research have breathed new life into this older post and it obviously hit a nerve for many others too. Well said. ;D

Wow! You all are a very opinionated bunch of ppl! lol :p
Who knew this site would be more entertaining then watching a good movie??
But I do agree with most ppl. Everyone deals with their situation differently.
If complaining, kicking and screamming, being sad or even venting to others helps
us get through this process and relieves some of the stress then complain away! Everyone at
some point or another was in the exact same situation as the ppl that continue to wait
for a decision and shouldn't lose sight of that once they are on their " Comfy Couch".

i have read this post from start to finish and some people views are different because of there situation:

1. if all our spouse could get to visit us while this process happens then we would have less complaining to do, so people who can cant compare to others.
2. complaining sometimes if read properly can lead to getting valuable information that's needed
3. while the office clearly gives a timeline of how long the process will take as we see this is not consistent in any country at all
4. this site with all the ups and down have made things less frustrating for me and my wife, so complaining is a general part of any human behavior so then we will do it to help alleviate built up stress and anger.
5. if you read all the forms was a 'hero' member on this site then was told by the cic you have to redo things you know you did would make anyone mad.

Please what we all must see is that everything here is needed, those who complain and those who don't,we are not sure who is getting help are not there is no stupid question, because am sure even people who have already gotten through with the process if ask they might even don't remember what to do now since everything has changed.

Then stop reading them.

I stopped reading after this. Americans do not have to go through what most other applicants from non-visa exempt countries do.

You could have done everything wrong and you still would have been approved.

Im very happy that you found the process easy and painless -- it WAS for you because Americans generally get a rubber stamp.

Unfortunatley you now believe its just as easy for everyone else, and that everyone is as privileged as you to just get a rubber stamp on their application.

Ignorance is nothing to be proud of. Show some compassion for people who are being put through the wringer by a biased and demeaning system.
I am from mainland China, hong kong vo 18 months when I applied, so I agree with the original poster. And you said you stopped reading after my wife is american that's kinda rude.

You applied in Novemeber and apparently have already landed. Please let the rest of us borrow your time machine.

Americans do not have to endure the lengthy processing times and the additional hassle of having a spouse from a non-exempt visa country. They can have their spouses stay here throughout the process. The rest of us work constantly from a deficit.

Not landing till July, live with my wife in China.

But to answer the second part, how many fake marriages come out of America compared to China or the non-exempt visa countries.
