Tips for a successful BOWP application

So I'm on this page, I click on option 1, apply online, it takes me to another page where I have to answer a bunch of questions about coming to Canada (although I already live in Canada) and then it says I should apply for the express entry! WTF!! All I want to do is apply for a BOWP online instead of the paper version.

Here is the link...I just did the online questionnaire for BOWP and it allowed. Try changing your answers in the questionnaire and see.

I filled the questionnaire o the page and it says you are not eligible for work permit without LMIA, where should I apply for bridge permit then?

You cannot apply at this time. You must have a Labour Market Impact Asssessment issued by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).

I am currently working in Canada under Inter Company Transfer - closed work permit.
My wife came on Visitor visa and received her dependent open work permit (under my work permit).
She has applied FSW PR visa and received Application Number.
Now my visa expires in 4 months and planning to apply Bridge open work permit for both (under PR - Application Number).

my wife - visitor --> Open work permit --> Bridge Open work permit
Mine - Closed work permit --> Bridge open work permit

Can you advise chances of success? Also duration of BOWP.

Hi,
if one application is processed the other one will be cancelled. I am not sure about the money (if you can ask for a refund of the cancelled application or not).

I am pretty sure that as long as your WP application is not in process, you can cancel it and you will get your money back. I did it once with my visitor extension application as I got my WP in in the meantime.

I had a same thing. The trick is when answering the question about your intentions in Canada: You have to provide the answer “temporarily more than 6 months”. Than the application will give you the option “Open Work Permit”.
I guess you guys already figured it out, just wanted to post it for some one else who could run into same thing.
