Sorry for the late answer, I was busy with work.
Cover letter is optional but it's good to have. It's very easy, you just shortly describe your situation, there are several good examples of this...

Good luck! :)
thank for reply ......I m going apply tomorrow let see when I will get ......

Hi guys! What do I do if I can't fit my work history for the past 10 years in the space provided? I am applying online........

Create additional sheets for work experience, scan it along with the explanation letter. In the letter mention that you have attached additional sheets to include past 10 years work experience.

Hi,

Could someone please provide me information regarding my situation.

I am going to apply for PNP. I have PGWP untill this december 2014. If my PNP gets approved in next 3 months, then can I apply for workpermit with approval letter ? or do I have to wait untill just 4 months left for current visa expiry ?

I would wait until the current permit is expired within 4 months. PGWP is also an open work permit and there is nothing special on BOWP compare to PGWP

Hello Everyone,
I have a question, appreciated for your valuable answers. I applied BOWP in April 2, 2014 for me and for my wife by online. I got my BOWP approved already but my spouse application is still pending. Now question is she didn't complete her chest X-ray coz she is pregnant, She can't get her work permit before her X-ray?? Her work permit gonna expire by August 2 and due date is Sep 11. In case if she didn't get her work permit is there any rule for extend or renew her health card and SIN?? Thanks

Hi,

As there is no medical requirement for BOWP or Open work permit than this should not affect her permit. I guess if your BOWP approved her OP should approved soon too! Wait few days, and if it's the same, maybe you can try to call CIC Helpdesk and ask them about. ;)

Hi
Just a quick question?
Can we apply for Owp for Dependent based on BOWP of Applicant?

I assume the X-ray is related to the CEC application? The BOWP only requires that you have a CEC (or other eligible class) application pending and have received the acknowledgement. The x-ray does not affect it. Unless the work permit required a medical exam for some reason?

If her work permit expires before the BOWP is approved, she will be on implied status. A SIN cannot be extended without the new permit, but one may continue to use an expired SIN during implied status.

Health cards cannot be extended during implied status (certainly not in Ontario).

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone can assist me with some information.

I am applying for a BOWP on my CEC application. In this application i included my Common Law partner, however she does not need a BOWP because she has to return to her home country of Chile when her current work permit expires.

So in my IMM 5710 i have identified that i have a common Law partner, and i will include a copy of the declaration of common law, however no where on forms can i see a anywhere to indicate that my partner will not be requiring a BOWP.

I appreciate that us being in different countries for a number of months is outside of the given requirements of a "common law" relationship, however due to the immigration barriers we face, there is no alternative.

I was planning to explain these details in a cover letter and submit that with the application, but if anyone has any information that might help it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello everyone :)

I applied for BOWP for me and OWP for my spouse last Friday, May 2. I received an email last Saturday, May 3 that my application has been updated. When I checked MyCIC, there was already and application number on my BOWP application but nothing on my spouse's. Is that normal? How soon do we get an update on my spouse's application?

Thanks!

thanx for the awesome tips guys... ;)
I got my BOWP.
Do i need to apply for TRV now and get new sin number?

Cheers,

Ramu

^ Congratulations! How long was the processing?

Just an update, I logged in to MyCIC now and found that there is an application number on my husband's OWP app already :) Now on to the waiting game :)
