My parents and brother landed today at Toronto airport. It was a busy morning and it took them 2.5 hours to get through immigration and customs. Thankfully their connecting flight is many hours away.
Congratulations! :)

Out of 372 applications that made the 10,000 quota,
211 received Sponsorship Approval (SA) and/or their file got transferred to LVO
102 received IME/PCC/RPRF requests
13 received PPR

which means
12.75% of the total 102 IME/PCC cases received PPR (6.16% of the total 211 SA/File Transfer cases received PPR)

These stats are solely based on the users of 2016 Timeline spreadsheet.
Thanks for this info.

Out of the 2 photos, I wrote my mom's name and DOB on the back of only 1 photo (according to 5445EB). I left the other one empty.

I put both photos in one small photo-sized envelope and wrote my mom's name and application no on top (according to our PPR email instructions).

Please, follow the instruction you were given when CIC asked the photos.
Hi Rossei,

Is the photos are mandatory for all the applications? because my PGP application is sent to Ottawa and my parents live in India. So if we were asked to submit will it be to Ottawa or just in NDVO?

Hi, this is my situation.

I want to sponsor my parents (both) in 2017, but I am missing the minimum income by few hundred dollars (CAD 858) for the year 2013. For 2014, 2015 I am good though.

So should I

a) Apply for both of them and take a chance?

b) Apply only for any of my parent this year and then apply for my other parent next year? In case I apply for one of my parent this year (lets say Dad) and then once my Dad gets the PR, is there any other way (other than PGP) I can bring in my Mom later?

Experts, please suggest....

From what I read and see, your application will be rejected. Why would CIC give you a chance when the next guy lined up behind you fully met the requirement? Don't forget there's a cap and many applications unfortunately won't even get a chance to have their situation reviewed before making to the 10k cap.

Sorry to break it down to you like this.

Your best bet is to adjust your 2013 return to report whatever income you think that you should and didn't report, and get that before Jan 2017.

I can't advise on apply parents separately though.

Yes, photos are mandatory to print CoPR and they are usually asked along with PPR. Although some LVO ask for it long before PPR.

Since your parents are in India, it's better to submit passports and photos together to NDVO (thru VFS) when they are asked for PR Visa stamping and CoPR.

Passports have been requested for my parents today. They are in Canada currently and as per letter instruction, I can send copy of letter, passports and 2 photos to Ottawa instead to LVO.

My parents are traveling back to home country on Nov 21st. Should they wait to submit papers in home country visa office as the instruction in the letter mentioned "plan to stay in Canada for 3 months"?

Can someone please share how much time does it take to get the passport back?

At the same time, I would be worried if local visa office does not give enough time for landing which will make them travel soon. I am hoping the visa to be valid till May 21, which is the 12 month completion of their medical exam.

What happens after the passport are stamped? Should they go to border to get their landed immigrant status? I believe that can be done on the same day after visa stamped passport is received.

Pls share your experiences.

We are from Purolator 9:43 a.m. batch too and received SA in August and app was transferred to Ottawa. We haven't heard from them since then. I guess there's nothing much to worry.
I guess this should be normal. I am from Purolator 9:43 as well. My online status still says "Application Received". :(

one last thing on these photos -
1. in india we dont have the concept of stamping on back of the photo by the photo studio
2. are you suggesting to send the photos with the passport even if its NOT mentioned in the letter? or only if its mentioned?

Good photographers knows the procedure.
My photographer asked me the purpose and informed me the size of photograph and stamped the photograph at the time of delivery. So do not worry for Indian photographers.
