Timeline issue, need suggestions

Hey Guys,

I will send out my CEC application on Mar. 20th, 2014 (Mar.18 2013 - March 20 2014), but my work permit will expire on Mar. 31st, 2014.

I don't think I can get my AOR before my work permit expires, so i will send out my bridge open work permit application with explanation by mail, which takes about two months.
Hopefully, my AOR would have been issued by then. The thing is in order to get implied status, i want to make sure CIC receives my work permit application before Mar. 31st, 2014.
How many days will it take from "send" to "receve confirmed"? Any clue?

I believe once they receive your application till a decision is made, you are on implied status.

I'd suggest you send out an application for work permit a couple days before the expiry of your current work permit. The requirement is that the application be sent before the expiry date of your current permit, but to be safe you should make sure it arrives at CIC before that date. I did the same thing when i renewed my work permit. Once you send it off, you will be on implied status until you receive an answer from CIC. I'd also suggest you send it by express post and have it signed for when received at CIC. Depending on where you are in the country, it should take anywhere from 1-5 days for delivery by express depending on a multitude of factors, check with Canada post though. Once its signed for at CIC, its "receive confirmed".

My case is always complicated... the work permit i am holding right now, i applied myself, before i did that i talked with a lot immigration consultants, most of them are bullshiting, knew very little and some of them suggest me apply a vistor visa and move to small town to obtain a LMO, i got it approved.

As for this time, it is also complicated, i will write a good convincing letter, will send out paper application for work permit to by myself some more time and i will apply work permit online on the 30th to make sure i get implied status, if i get confirmation that my paper application received before 31st, i will cancel the online application.

Anyway, i don't want to be over confident, it depends on the visa officer making the decision. what i can do is to come up a safest plan to get myself a better chance.
