We had our AOR last Jan 18 and got an email from CEM last Feb 1 for MR and got medical forms the day after.
Hi YellowBucks,

Congratulations!

You got your MR within less than 2 weeks from receiving AOR email?
... That was fast ...

I really hope and pray so,

I had my AOR since February 4, 2016 and still haven't received my MR yet.

.... It's been over a month now, and there are lots of those who received their AOR during the first week of Feb (from the same CEM as mine) that have actually already received their MR.

I don't understand the delay with mine...I'm getting very anxious...

:-X :'( :(

... Good luck to all of us ...

While filing up the electronic form for submission to CIC stage, It says:

Completing the form
You must answer all questions on this application form unless indicated otherwise.
Download and fill out the application form on a computer.
You also have the option of saving your form and completing it later.

What if the information you are trying to input does not fit in the box allotted for the question? For example: School / Name of Institution is too long. Can it be handwritten? If yes, only that portion should be handwritten or better hand write everything for uniformity reasons?

Please help.

Thank you

Hi Lyoxine :)

For me, I use the next line in the same column so I can write the complete info since it says, do not abbreviate.

Then if you require more space, you can use extra sheet/s. Just dont forget to print your name at the top of each extra sheet and mention the form's title and number of the question you are answering.

You can utilize your creativity on this task. Dont worry, as long as you follow the guidelines, then you can never go wrong.

Hope this helps.

Exit to activate PR status? Coming from Saskatchewan or from where?

Pwede naman kahit saan land border with the US to exit and activate PR status - essentially flag-poling.

See here:
http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/do-rb/services/imm-eng.html
So base dyan ang pinakamalapit na offices na me IMMI services available are:
- sa North Portal CBSA office (SK border with North Dakota, USA)
- Coutts (AB border with Montana, USA)

Most of the time ang advise is to exit sa nearest land border - kung meron sa province mo, then dun ka mag-exit. This is para wala ng tanong pa sa intention to settle in to the nominating province - hassle pa kasi and others kasi ayaw na ng marami pang tanong (para di maunahan ng kaba). Due to "abuses" in the past, nagtatanong na madalas ang border officials to determine saan ang intention ng nominee to settle - itinatanong kung same address pa ba as per residence documents or saan ang immediate destination after mag activate ng PR status. Part na ito ng checking sa eligibility - some provinces kasi enforce the intent to live/settle provision as a check, kung makikita kasi na wala naman intention to settle in the nominating province, based on instructions/agreements between federal and provincial immi offices, pwede i-deny ng officer ang landing. Final say ang border officer on landing - me authority sila to deny landing.

However, if you are confident enough in answering these questions and provide ample proof of residence, and continued residence/relationships sa nominating province, wala naman magiging issue. Madali na sagutin ang tanong na bakit sa AB/Montana ka nag-flagpole (i.e. mas malapit sa inyo, mas convenient etc.) instead of SK/ND border and then madali na sagutin ang tanong sa intent to settle sa province (if magtanong).

On what to do on flag-poling - FYI - this was the reply of IRCC on an inquiry about the 'flagpole' procedure:

Sir, Madam,

Thank you for contacting Citizenship and Immigration Canada. I am pleased to follow up on your request:

Validating a Confirmation of Permanent Residence at a Land Border (Flag Pole Procedure)

Once you get your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292 or IMM 5688) from a Canadian visa office and, if necessary, your permanent resident visa in your passport, you must have these documents validated by an immigration officer at a port of entry. If you did not see an immigration officer when you arrived in Canada and are still in possession of your IMM 5292 or IMM 5688 document, then you must:
Go to the American land border and explain to the officer that you do not want to enter the US; but that you want to return to Canada immediately to validate an immigration document (this is called the flag pole procedure).
Once at the Canadian border, you must show the officer:
- your passport, travel or identity document (including secure visa counterfoil (IMM 1346), if applicable);and
- your Confirmation of Permanent Residence form and instructions issued by the Canadian visa office; and
- your proof of legal status in Canada, such as a valid work permit, study permit, temporary resident permit, or visitor document; or
- any immigration document in your possession (whether valid or not); and
- proof of implied status (if applicable), for example:
payment receipt;
copy of your application;
printout of online application;
proof of mailing.

To find the land border closest to you which offers immigration services, please visit the Canada Border Service Agency Web site.

Alternatively, tawagan mo ang IRCC - 1-888-242-2100 - toll-free naman within Canada. Get instructions.
