Hello everyone! I'm currently preparing all the docs needed for my MPNP application but there's a problem causing delay. I already contacted Manitoba Immigration through phone and e-mail but there's still no answer. I hope someone can help me here so I can submit my application immediately. :(

A friend will endorse my application but I failed to provide the recommended 10,000 CAD on my bank account. I only have 6,000 CAD and to resolve this, my sponsor will attach an Affidavit of Financial Support together with her bank statement on her SP2. Does anyone here tried this method already? Will I be rejected because I didn't reach the 10,000 CAD settlement fund? And my sponsor has only 10,000CAD on her bank too but she has a full-time and part-time job. Please help me. :(
I don't know if this will help but i'll share it anyways. In my application, i got two dependents my wife and my son which requires me to add 4k cnd $ more but i only got 10k but i pass my application anyways. i don't know but i think they really need the 10k mark for the settlement. they even ask me to follow a bank certificate (which i forgot to include in my application package). and Manitoba immigration i think you need a file number for them to entertain some queries because in my experience they were really prompt on replying on my emails before. hope this gives you an idea.

As far as I know, they aren't strict for PNPs, ang chinecheck lang talaga nila is FSW. Let's wait for others to share their opinion.

Essentially, once you have declared the common-law relationship at the nomination application (i.e. MPNP/Provincial) and your partner has identified you as a spouse/partner under the application filed at MPNP, then you are included in the nomination. If your partner has received your LoA/nomination letter, that should show also who are included in the nomination. With that LoA and onwards to filing the PR application at Federal level (i.e. CIO/CIC), you are included as a spouse (under common-law).

Should you get married, then your status changes from being under common-law to that of being married, which does not have a major impact to the application as the spouse remains the same, and the partnership is still the same, albeit just a change in the nature of the partnership. There is no change in the family members (you) that was included in the application. However, it is still a status change, so down the line, if both of you decide to get married while the application is being processed, then likely you will have to inform the VO, and be required to submit proof of the marriage (Marriage Certificate). Why would this be important? - it all boils down to a change in your identity data - should your name change (i.e. taking the surname of the spouse) then it will have to be reflected in their records as this will have seen in all official documents regarding your residence status (PR cards, CoPR etc.)

Thank you so much Ragluf. You never miss to amaze me with your insights. :)

Well what can I say - the disparity between a mandatory seminar provided by the gov't vs a voluntary one provided by the private sector. Nuff' said. :).

The PDOS in my view should not be about a "pre-departure" but more about settling your affairs in PH (i.e. PAGIBIG, SSS, OWWA etc.), consular officers and support services for new immigrants (technically since immigrants are still citizens of the PH until they renounce citizenship), and steps after resettling in a new country (maintaining ties, integration etc.). Then registration under CFO can be done separately.

This is why the CIIP and COA are much better - they do answer the urgent questions and needs of those uncertain of what to expect when settling into a new country.

Should be ok - you are under PNP, have a sponsor who executed a settlement plan to support you, so aside from the funds you will be bringing to Canada, you have a supporter who has a plan for you to succeed. Quite different from FSWs this is why the support funds are checked much more for those under that program. And also, you can look back at the previous posts of those who landed, and mostly funds are not checked and oftentimes not asked during Landing.

I still have to write my PDOS experience blog, wala pa lang maisingit na time as of now.

Excited na rin.... pero still working until end of March. Mas excited ako pag April na. ;D ;D ;D
Yay, haba notice period? Challenge talaga luggages, short vacation nga lang hirap na pagkasyahin mga gamit. At hirap minsan let go of personal stuff, me senti moments pa. lol.

Sa dami ng kalat namin (have 2 kids), pagdating pa lang MR, I'll start sorting things na. Ha,ha. Di naman masyadong excited. Abangan ko tips mo on surviving this challenge;-)

Hi Wolfrain,

I suggest you e-mail CIO to direct your
files to CEM instead of waiting aor from SG.
SGVO usually takes longer time to issue aor
& seldom reply to inquiries. It would be more
difficult to request for transfer once your
files are in SG.

Good Luck.

Yes, naranasan ko ng mag-pack from one country to another. When I returned to the Philippines from UK, I had to fit as much as possible my 6 years of UK life in 6 boxes. Now, going to Canada, I am trying to fit it all in 1 box. The rest of course are going with me, pero 1 box to follow na lang.

Agree ako, ang hirap mag-let go sa mga sentimental stuff talaga. So, yun ang mga kinahon ko. Kahit bumili ako ng bago, it won't be the same kasi. LoL

Ahhh.... medyo matagal pa ang blog ko regarding packing. Still in that process.
