PPR na ako!!!

Kaya lang may additional documents. I was asked to get a new NBI clearance as stated on my Birth Certificate.

Instead of my first name Maria, it should be Ma.

I am a little worried because my passport states Maria but my birth certificate states Ma.

Will this cause any problems for me? Mr. Ragluf any inputs?

Oh and also, the deadline is for 29 February 2014, and I will go on Monday for NBI this 3 February, this will take 3 weeks for me because I am always a 'HIT'. Should I request for an extension after I receive my receipt from NBI?

Congrats tabs! Yey!

yay! road test passed after 2nd chance ???

This Ma. and Maria issue is and will always be there for Filipinas. I've seen and heard about this issue from so many people... ;D ;D ;D

But, tabs I'm just curious, under what name CEM would issue the visa for you? Will it be Ma. or Maria. If Ma., wouldn't it be a problem because as you said the name Maria is the one appearing in your passport.

Good question! I hope someone can shed a light on this. I have a form with the PPR, perhaps they will copy the name I wrote on that form.

Mr. Ragluf, any comments?

I think this is why they requested the NBI clearance to have her name on the birth certificate appear instead of the name on the passport. BC always trumps any other form of identification. Whatever name they decide to put in her visa, for as long as she has a copy of her birth certificate along with her passport, wala sigurong magiging problema. :)

I've traveled to the US with conflicting names (name in my visa still has my maiden name because I wasn't married yet when it was issued and my latest passport bears my married name) and it didn't become a problem. The website of the US embassy here in Manila suggested to bring along another form of identification, which in my case was my marriage certificate, in case immigration would question the conflict in names. But upon entry to the US, the immigration officer didn't even bat an eyelash that my names were different.

Congratulations tabs on your PPR and just go through the motions of this. Before you know it, PPV ka na at paalis ka na din just like the rest of our forum-mates here. Try also to check if the online application for NBI clearance is already up and running. And just a suggestion, don't go to the NBI Main Office kasi nightmare ata kumuha ngayon dun because of the new system they're putting up. Best to go to their satellite offices in the malls. We went to Robinson's Place in Manila but I believe they also have one in Galleria.

HTH...Good luck! :) And thank you for sharing your experiences here. :)

Thanks pebbles to this information. I have not even noticed that my birth certificate was different to my passport.

I only noticed it today after so many years. I guess it won't really matter, as long as I have the original birth cert with me and my passport.

I'm hoping the best for tabs and for everyone. I'm happy that she got her PPR and soon her visa. Hopefully walang maging aberya sa mga dokumento nya. God bless us all and good luck to all of us.

Likewise to you, Sir! :)

Guys, another question. The email and attached file didn't mention how many pictures are required.

For those who have their visas already, how many photographs have you submitted to CEM?
