Hello,

My parents have applied for TRV online on May 26, 2015. Although they have provided all required documents, after reading posts on this forum under visitor category, I am little worried that they might not have provided enough documents to prove their ties with country of residence.

My father got retried from his job in 2013 and my mother is a homemaker. They are the co-owner of an apartment in Mumbai and never traveled abroad before.

Just wondering if any one can suggest what documents could have been provided to prove their ties with home country apart from their property document.

Thanks.

I am quite surprised at how fast visa applications are processed in Asia, particularly in India. I applied from US and the whole thing took about 35 days. Makes no sense haha.

The only reason I can think of is; since US citizens don't need Canada visa to enter in Canada, there must be less staff to process such applications from US. Also, applicants' ties in Canada and home country could be playing key role.

Also India gets a preferential treatment from Canada.

Ties indeed are tougher to prove for USA residents, as it is mainly non-citizens the ones who apply for TRVs, so cases are more complex.

Both of those arguments make sense. I suppose I should consider myself lucky. They didn't ask me for any further documentation and apart from the waiting time, the process was flawless. Crossing into Canada for the weekend tomorrow.

Oh Canada!

speakvishal, I am in worse situation than you. my father retired in 2010 and has not been working since then and my mother is a home maker. They dont even any fixed assets in India but have money in Fixed deposits and Gold. I am planning to apply for visit visa and collecting the below docs as a proof of their ties to the home country.

1. letter from a chartered accountant detailing all assets and liabilities
2. Address Proof
3. Medical Insurance Payments
4. Fixed Deposit Certificates
5. Life Insurance policy documents
6. Jewellery evaluation certificate
7. Power of Attorney Letter for the properties I own in India
8. Letter explaining the family ties with my parents siblings
9. Copies of receipts for the Gold bought
10. Travel Itinerary with Expense Estimates
11. Income Tax Returns

What kind of docs did you submit as a proof?

Hello yahoo7!

Can you please tell me as I don't think it can get worse than my situation here....
My hardly 39 year old brother just died and am in the process of bringing my mom to Canada with me and have only counted days in hand (as my emergency visa is expiring mid July). My father died when I was in grade 12 and mom always been housewife....she was fully dependent upon her "good son" infrequent income who died recently. About "Bad son", we have no clue at all. Her financial and family ties are one small house and 1 brother and elder son...that's about it!
Question: as per your list of documents:

What are you showing for "Address proof"?

Where and how did you get jewelry evaluation certificate? Please explain.

What should I show as she never earned a singly penny and hence no income tax filed ever? Do I really need it?

Thanks and would really appreciate!

Kind regards,
Bluebirdy

I am asking my parents to submit their Aadhar card in India as address proof. Also,

Where and how did you get jewelry evaluation certificate? Please explain. I am trying to get it from a bank. Will confirm once I get it.

Thanks and would really appreciate!

Kind regards,
Bluebirdy

Hello yahoo7,

My parents didn't submit any document to show their ties with home country which is why I was worried in the first place and started this thread. They only submitted the documents that is asked for online application including airline tkt and the invitation letter that I gave them. Also, for proof of funds, they didn't submit any document from their side. Instead, I provided them a letter saying I will fund their visit and attached my last three years tax assessment letters, my last 03 pay stubs and bank statements.

They have already received approvals for their applications.

I believe you should be fine too.

Let me know if you have any other question.

Thats wonderful news.Congrats. Its a little surprising that your parents got the visa without submitting any supporting documents from their side.
