kalexandra went thru LVO and was processed in 3 months. Visa issued in september. People were raging... lol

So, no need for you to compare your app with hers.

Hi,

yes you have to provide birth certifcate from which country he was born, if you cant get hold birth certificate, then he need to go to any solicitor with his british passport and get statutory declaration.

i had the same problem my home country embassy couldnt provide the birth certificate i just went to lawyer and got statutory declaration.

DH needs to contact his mom for the birth certificate. I don't like dealing with old people, especially seniors.

Added, but missing info. The office that is processing your application will be listed on your sponsor approval letter/email. The address will be at the bottom - is the address Mississauga, Ottawa, or London? Let me know.

Hi, yeah I'm just waiting for my wife to email me over the SA approval email. I'll update you when I find out myself!

Also, has anyone else noticed that the London processing times have gone up to 29 months on the CIC website? I know that they have a backlog from Islamabad, but thats a seriously long time..

The London posted time will not take into account applications held in Mississauga and Ottawa.

I agree, the timeline makes it useless... however, I have a feeling that they were getting inundated by Islamabad applicants with the posted processing time at 11 months. The website clearly says not to contact them until you've passed the processing time... but Islamabad applications will certainly be longer than that. Applications started to be transferred around a year ago, so I'll bet you that those applicants were simply ramming CIC with requests for updates...

So my advice is to just stay calm. I'm honestly quite surprised that they didn't update the processing time earlier. We'll use the spreadsheet as an estimate on how long "normal" applications take, and we'll go from there.

Everyone just calm the f* down.

I wouldn't be too concerned. The avg is still anywhere 7-9 months for European residents, and those Pakistani nationals that applied April/May of 2014 have already heard back for extra documentation/re-medical etc. etc. From what I understand, the avg went up because of the backlog from 2011-2013 that got cleaned up last year.

Was the date received when you posted it and they got the application, or was it when they emailed you stating they had received to application and had begun looking at the sponsors eligibility?
