Hi,
A little advice needed please if poss..
So its now been 3 weeks since a decision was made on my case but I still haven't been notified what the decision is! It is so frustrating!
I am now concerned that something is wrong and LVO have messed up again (they lost my British passport and applications for 5 months!). The postal address on my ECAS is my Canadian residence, even though I notified them (and ECAS) that my contact and postal address has been in the UK since May 2014. All correspondence that has been sent in the last 10 months has also reiterated this.
I am on absolute tenterhooks about what the decision is and now I am also stewing that there might be an additional problem with their method of notification.
I have sent a case specific enquiry today although I don't hold out much hope of a response judging from their past performance (even my MP had to write to them 3 times before they replied which took 56 days from his original enquiry).
If I don't get a response from them and the decision letter is 'missing' what are my options? Who do I contact if London don't answer?
I'm particularly nervous as it took them 5 months to respond (enquiries sent every 28 days) to my missing passport; I know they just ignore enquiries they can't be bothered to deal with are, or require something more than a 'standard' answer. Their communication absolutely sucks!
My faith in the system is really waning.
:(
this really is brutal...

Hey Davmeister13,

Was the date received when you posted it and they got the application, or was it when they emailed you stating they had received to application and had begun looking at the sponsors eligibility?
That is the date when our application was delivered to Mississauga :)

hie all

update, landed in Calgary on the 12th of February, though the weather was disappointingly warm, 7 degrees Celsius on average :(, was looking forward for a taste of the cold weather.
All went well when I got off at Calgary airport, was really surprised how quick the process was, the only questions asked was my wife's name and my Calgary address and that was all. I didn't need to fill in any forms as the PR card is issued by CIC automatically once landing is confirmed and have been advised that it will be around 2-3 months.

Went to Service Canada the next day and applied for a SIN number which was issued on the spot, apparently they don't do cards anymore. Next stop was the registry where I applied for a Alberta Health Care Insurance card. on this one I didn't need to make a fresh application but rather was added to my wife's existing account. The card should be with us in about two weeks. I am not sure how it works if you are not joining your spouse, I am sure someone on the forum can clarify the process. Didn't manage to change my driving licence as I will do that when I move finally in two months time. I was advised that having a driving abstract will lower my insurance which will come in handy. Next stop was the bank for accounts and credit cards which is all done now. I am back in the UK now to finish of my MSc programme and cant wait to head back in two months time

Thanks everyone for the advise along the way AND GOOD LUCK!!!!!

This is a message to gander. Your inbox is full so I cannot message you directly.

Have you received sponsor approval? Any communication from CIC? Let us know so we can maintain your data in the spreadsheet.

Thanks,
Andrew

Hi all,

So I got the email asking for photcopy of passport, update of information and additional photos (still not sure what they do with the six I sent with the application!!)

I have a quick question if anyone has gone through this part.

I saw on the last page that you can either send all of this to the UK, or if you already in Canada, then you can send it to Ottowa. Has anyone sent it to the Ottowa address?

Also, just out of interest how long from sending all this info does it take to receive the PR card? (UK or Ottowa)

Thanks once again for everyones help along the way!!

It was processed in Mississauga, but this email is letterheaded from the London office. It says send all the info to a)London, or b) if in Canada for 3 months, Ottowa

I'm leaning towards sending it to London to keep it simple

Hello I would love to be added to the spreadsheet

Ottawa received app on 22nd of November for outland spousal permanent residency

Very concerned with the 29month thing, but may be not as much to worry about as I first thought? How long is the average on the spreadsheet now?

Thanks a lot.

If you would like to be added to the spreadsheet please provide the following:

-Date application received in Mississauga
-Whether you applied as Married or Common-Law
-Date of sponsor approval
-Which office is processing Phase 2 of your application (will say on your sponsor approval letter/email)
-Date(s) of any other requests you've had
-Whether or not the principal applicant is non-visa exempt
-Current location of the principal applicant- closest major city is fine if you don't want to be too specific!

Also Mississauga gets your application first, not Ottawa, so maybe you mean Ottawa has it for stage 2? Answering the above will give me the info I need.

Just to point out that you will not receive your PR card when your visa is approved- you will receive your COPR which you will use to land. When you land the CBSA officer will submit your application for your PR card, which will be sent to you a few months later.

Nobody can tell you for sure how long it will take from submitting the requested documents to receiving your COPR- your best bet is to look through the spreadsheet and see others who have had similar requests and look at their time lines. Hopefully it doesn't take too long!
