Once again I have emailed the London office.. Merely to ask about current status and any kind of update, I'm not expecting anything else..

I received a response from them on the 22nd of May to a similar previous request to which I responded on the 24th.. Since then, nothing.. No response whatsoever..

I followed up my 24th May email with an email on the 5th of June and again this morning.. Still I wait..

10 months + and counting with not a word from the London office in just under a month..

Kinda sux don't it?? :-\

I am however confused in regards to the different policies. I want a visitors Health Insurance that will allow me to go to a doctor and have my prescription filled. I need thyroid medication on a daily basis and although my doctor will give me this for a length of time. I need to be able to get regular medication while in Canada. I can go without my medication for about 2/3 then my symptoms start showing.

My other question is, will I have to undergo blood tests in Canada in order to satisfy them that I do have Hypothyroidsm (which I assume will cost money which is the other thing I really want covered) or will a letter from my doctor or a copy of my previous test results be enough....

:-\ there is so much to think about - I suppose on the positive side it is keeping my mind off Ecas....lol

not sure - it's always worth a try. Bring your previous prescription, a letter from the family GP, and maybe the last test results...
I was able to get a new prescription for an existing condition just by showing which meds I was taking, so it might be the case. Worst case scenario, they will make you get a new test.

I used world nomad when I arrived and they were pretty good about it. Fast processing of claims as well.

Although this was in 2001, we got married in Canada, came to the UK and she had her permanent leave to remain within 6 weeks at a reasonable cost of £260 odds. Not sure if it is so easy now - isn't there some sort of income requirement for non-EEA nationals?

Yes, the minimum is £18,600. If you have children it goes up to around 22,000 for 1 child and so on and your partners income is not taken into consideration.

Another quick question , what is meant by complete set of fingers ?

I talked to metropolitan police who said that the police do not provide such service in the UK as its not related to crime in the UK which is their main priority and I may contact solicitor to assist with my forms.

Any suggestions on how to proceed ?

It's my understanding that the Met at Scotland Yard in London can perform fingerprints for immigration purposes. That only helps if you're in London I suppose!

I just emailed London again asking if my COPR has been issued yet, and if not can they give me a timeline. It's now been 5 weeks since they said it would be sent out "shortly".

Not been much movement out of the london office recently, especially on the Decisions Made front. Is there a complete work stoppage or are they only dealing with high priority cases? what would be deemed high priority? id argue that everyone single one of our cases is high priority given the fact that we are having to live without our partners and even children in some cases.... which I believe actually goes against "The Charter".

Oh well... Anyone with any proper info on the work stoppage feel free to reply...

I have jested about this before but I am now quite serious. I think a refund of some of that exorbitant fee should be in order.

I have been quite happy to go the flow on things as I redo my house to rent it out etc. (the joys of self-employment). But I may need to get a full time job in case this drags on, heaven forbid, into next year.
