just to let you know - if you're visa-exempt, I don't think you will get an email at all. Most likely, the COPR will show up in the post (the day it turned decision made is usually the day it's posted, so if you're in the UK, it should be a couple of days, if you're in Canada, anywhere from 10 days to 2 weeks is standard), and that's it! I never got an email or anything once it turned into DM.
But if you haven't been asked for more documents and you have a pretty straightforward case, then it's a positive decision ( they wouldn't refuse your PR without asking for more info).

Ok, thanks Sweden. I was hoping they’d ask us if we wanted an extension on the medical before they issued the PR as we weren’t planning to move until the end of March but my husband’s medical expires before then. Guess we’ll just have to see what happens. I suppose we can always make a separate trip just to land if need be.

It seems like lots of people are starting to get good news now! Congratulations to everyone! I've been in Canada since November waiting until they ask for my medical results. I'm due to go home at the end of January, but I don't think I can face it now! Can't leave the wife all alone! I'm hoping my application will come up soon! I hope everyone has a great time in Canada!

Unless the visa is issued within 2 weeks of the expiry of the medical results, I don't think they would ask you about it. So most likely the "to land by" date will be the expiry of medicals, and you would have to go and land... ( or they already extended your medicals and you are not aware of it, because they didn't think they could finish your file, and at the end it took them less time! )

Very excited! COPR arrived in the post this morning - happy days!! Thanks for all your support and advice offered over the past 8 months. It’s definitely helped me keep some level of sanity in my life! LOL

Good luck to everyone still waiting - I hope this level off good news keeps coming out of the London office. Seems they are on a roll!
