Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Heyhey all, I couldn't remember my other password for GWN86 but it is I! (You might remember me as one of the very few unresolved cases from Nov ish 2013)

So sorry for the long wait, after the hassle with the government and my husband's saudi police check I have updates!

-The government of Canada took FIVE weeks to give us a copy of the required letter for the police check. Had to apply for an extension of the deadline because they had wasted a total of seven weeks (including shipping time for documents). Extension was approved.
- We paid for a speedy translation and got it to the government ON the deadline, the saudi government was incredibly slow in giving us the original document.
- We applied for a medical extension at the same time as the document extension, the government stated there were delays with that wing of the process but to generally expect a yes if we don't hear anything by the time the process was over.
- I looked at the portal for the first time in five months, noticed there was a Decision Made! I do not know when but I assume some time recently as they received the police check Dec 11th.

What am I to expect next? timelines... anything would be useful.

My husband is once again at work in Saudi (Canada has GREAT timings with his bloody rotation haha) and takes at least a week to get his exit visa out of saudi. If by some miracle we get an approval, what are our next steps? I need to set stuff up asap should it fall in that direction.

Cheers and helllooooo again! <3

Hello -- I posted this question in October Outland applications, but was told to re-post here:

We just got the notice that the application is in its final stage! Not sure how long this takes? They've asked for some pictures and photocopies of passport-- I thought the final stage was them requesting the actual passport of the applicant? Can anyone help with this? It also never went to the London office, but was processed in Mississauga entirely, and I'm not sure what this means.

For context, I'm a Canadian citizen sponsoring my British citizen wife.

You should receive your COPR in the mail within 6 weeks, assuming the decision is a positive one.

Spreadsheet updated, congratulations!

If you refer to the spreadsheet for Canadian spousal sponsorship via London you will see that in 2014 CIC started keeping some applications for UK/EU/Australian applicants in Mississauga or Ottawa for full processing. This is generally positive as the average processing time in Mississauga is a lot quicker than London.

Did you receive an e-mail saying your application is in the final stages? You still might be asked for a passport scan. Are you (the applicant) a British citizen? If so they will not need your physical passport.

Also would you like to be added to the spreadsheet? If so I need the following information:

-Date application received in Mississauga
-Whether you applied as Married or Common-Law
-Date of sponsor approval
-Which office is processing Phase 2 of your application (will say on your sponsor approval letter/email)
-Date(s) of any other requests you've had
-Whether or not the principal applicant is non-visa exempt
-Current location of the principal applicant- closest major city is fine if you don't want to be too specific!

Thank you,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Yes, we received the e-mail saying the application was in its final stages, and for passport scans and photos of her. I was wondering how long this takes, and whether or not they need my Canadian passport scans and pictures also?

I am not the applicant, but my wife is. She is a British citizen and I am Canadian.

For the spreadsheet:
- Application received Oct 9, 2014
- Applied as Married
- Sponsor Approval Dec 4, 2014
- Processing phase 2: Mississauga
- Any other request(s): None
- Principal applicant IS visa-exempt (British citizen)
- Current location of principal applicant: Edinburgh

Hey Guys,

Totally new here. I just noticed that my e-CAS reads "Decision Made" - what happens next for someone with a UK Passport?

I should add mine was processed through Mississauga then Ottawa.

This Is my Timeline -

1. We received your application for permanent residence on May 1, 2014.

2. We started processing your application on December 24, 2014.

3. Medical results have been received. (Mid September)

4. A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision. (Friday 2nd Jan)

Cheers!
Hello!
We have almost identical timelines. I think we just have to wait for something to come in the mail telling us if we have been approved or not. We haven't got our letter yet. Very anxious to (hopefully) get some good news! Good luck!! :)

Thanks, I have added you. When you say they asked you for pictures and photocopies of passport, do you mean passport style pictures? If so, tahat e-mail means they are ready to approve the visa and your pictures for that. Or was it relationship pictures they asked for?

Passport-style pictures. And that's excellent! Here's hoping it doesn't take too long after the pictures are sent. Thanks for the help!

FYI:

After I received sponsor approval back in October I noticed that my medical results were listed as received in ECAS, which was contrary to others.

So I e-mailed London VO on November 11th and they replied today saying

Your application is currently awaiting officer review, we will be in touch if any additional information is required.
On December 26th I noticed in ECAS that my medical results were noted as received in ECAS so not sure if my e-mail made them update it or not.

Also at the time of e-mailing them the auto responder said they would respond within 30 days, however it took about 60 days for them to reply.

I just emailed Ottawa as well as there isnt any note on ECAS of my medical results. However, judging by a few comments it looks like they don't seem to like to answer people so it might be a GCMS request.

So just received the letter saying: "Your application has reached the final stage of processing. So that your permanent resident visa can be issued, you must now submit the documents listed below." So basically will have to send the original passport along with photos.

I actually have two quick questions:

1- The documents (photos and passports) are requested for "accompanying spouse and dependent family members" as well. Shall I assume that since my wife/daughter are both Canadian that I should not send anything related to them?

2- In terms of sending the original passport does anyone have any experience of how long does the whole thing take to have the visa stamped; I am currently on a prolonged business trip so need to get an idea on how long I would practically be passport-less....

Many thanks as always!
