We also forgot to do this.

I was going to re-send them photos ASAP but was told that they receive so many application a day that without an application number they won't be able to match the photos to the application.

So we'll have to see if they send it back or not. I read on this forum that sometimes the visa office processing the application simply asks you to send them the new ones. (it seems like alot of people missed this instruction)

Either way i'm sure we'll know soon enough.

Yes, that's correct, it's actually writing your name on the photo, not a signature......sorry for the confusion!

And my wife was really ticked that she missed that - she always so meticulous, going over everything so carefully.....

Honestly, it's pretty easy to miss, tucked away in the instructions that may or may not apply to you. I would consider myself pretty meticulous too, and I totally missed it. And not in the Photo Specifications appendix? WTF?

Well let's hope common sense prevails, and either the visa office asks for new ones, or, they just forget about that instruction all together....

I inquired on the Outland buffalo thread and was told by people who also forgot all of this that it was never brought up to them at all. They are currently already landed!!! Let's hope that we all are so lucky!!!!

I really hope, for everyone's sake, that you who have also missed that one don't get the same clerk we apparently did.

However, now that I think of it, the other reason ours was sent back was that my wife's medical wasn't complete. We had first been told (via email from the Buffalo office) that because she was pregnant, she could send the medical in after the baby was born. Apparently Mississauga disagreed.

So, they might not notice the photo thing, if that's the only thing missing/wrong. They may have pointed out the photo to us only because the app was coming back anyway, due to the medical.

Hey gang, have heard from a few people that they forget to sign the photos and it wasn't a big deal. Guess it depends on if CIC is having a good day or a bad day. You never can tell!

Stuck in rainy Thailand and haven't heard anything from my partners Mom s to if we've had a decision. Did you guys get any sort of acknowledgement email or letter!? We sent ours on the 18th and we know it got there but haven't heard anything from CiC so not sure if it's just "sit and wait" or if they should send us something, log-in to e-cas maybe? Lemme know.

Finger, toes and everyone else crossed here in rainy Thailand.

Sorry to hear Thailand is rainy - what a bummer. I'm sure you were looking forward to the sun.

My understanding is that we don't hear anything about whether or not they received the application (I haven't heard anything and they go our on the 17th but I don't know about others)

As for e-cas I have gathered from this forum that the log in info is the number from the receipt and then the personal details of the sponsor. I think that you can't log in until they start processing the applications.

Again not 100% sure about that either but when i've tried it simply says that it is unavailable.

Hopefully some of the guys who submitted their applications eariler in Jan can enlighten us all.

I'll throw in my two cents, maybe it will help....

We sent ours with "return receipt requested" mail, because we wanted to know that at least it arrived at the building! Other than that, there was no other notification that they received it. I don't think they send acknowledgement that they received it. The first thing we got from them was the message (on the CIC site) that a decision was made on the sponsorship.

As far as logging in goes, I use my client id#, which I was given one of the times I called them. According to the little drop-down menu on the sign-in page, there are several different things which can be used to log in, including a receipt number from your IMM5401, or just the immigration file number.

And no, I didn't get any confirmation from CIC either; the application arrived safely and was signed for by someone called Ted - thank you, Ted, that was sweet of you - but that's all I know, and I won't even bother with ECAS for the next, oh, 6 months or so

Quakingaspen, how come you have not received your AOR letter yet????? it takes only 30 days to approval the sponsorship from CIC Misssauga.

Hi guys! Greetings from the December group. Sorry I didn't respond to this sooner, but I didn't notice it until now. Our average for getting through the Sponsorship portion of the application process has been about 35 days. However, while most of our applications were being processed we had the Christmas/New Years holidays, and that slowed them down a little bit.

Now, all but two of us have received our sponsorship approvals. One of those applied inland, and the other applied at the very end of the month. His application has been opened, but he hasn't received an answer yet.

We actually already have two PassPort Requests. Unbelievably fast! One is through the New Delhi office, and the other is through Beijing. We've had several "AOR's", which we're just counting as a eCAS update saying the application and medicals have been received. We have a couple In Process.

No word for anyone from Buffalo yet. November has been having a tough time with hearing from them as well.

Good luck to you all! December is nearly done being processed, so I'd guess the first of January should start getting letters/eCAS updates this week.
