Hey I was on the December thread last night, and someone said their sponsorship was approved on December 29th. I think they had said they called CIC- Mississauga. If that is true then the website processing times are about 6-7 days behind. If that is the case they be starting on January applications this week. Let's only hope right? but just thought i would come on here and let all of us January applicants know that..Good Luck

Fingers, toes, arms and legs crossed!!!

No Nothing some people who sent there in December havn't heard yet...I will say it is Valentine's Day-ish before anyone from January officially gets that letter

Hi all!

Got ours in on the 15th, already heard in message that my sponsorship app has a decision, just waiting for the letter. Not impressed that you can't find out what the decision is any other way, but oh well....

Looking forward to seeing everyone's timelines, we're a little concerned about ours, as my wife had an exclusion order last year for overstaying (expires Feb. 21st), so we're trying to put together enough proof that she intends to return after visiting next time. We're hoping to go back up to Canada in March (I'm visiting her right now in the US), so we're doing all the research we can about the best way to proceed.

I started a thread about this ("proof of intent to return") if anyone has ideas.

Good luck everyone!

When did you apply? and when was sponsorship approved?

Vish,

The application was sent on Jan. 15th, and yes, it is outland. They received it on the 21st.

I took some family leave from work to come visit them in the US.

I should mention, however, that we had originally sent it all in back in September, but it got returned. But since I was already down here visiting, it took a little work to get it back to us.
We got the errors fixed (one photo wasn't signed, and they had told us two different stories about whether my wife could wait on the medical exam due to pregnancy), and re-sent it on the 15th of Jan. So they may have already been working on my app for several months. We just received the message on the CI site that a decision was made on my sponsorship, but we've not got our hands on the letter yet, so we're not sure what the decision was. Tried calling the out-of-country number, but they weren't accepting calls to speak to anyone.

I'm hoping the decision is good news.....can't think of any reason why it wouldn't be, but it's hard to trust in a government operation, I must admit. We've been burned before.

Crossing everything possible, and praying......

Photos are supposed to be signed?? I did not see that anywhere! Which photos are you talking about specifically?

You're supposed to put the name and birthdate of the person on the back of one of each set of pictures. Page 16 of Immigrant's guide 3999E

Ugh, didn't read that section because we didn't have any family members to put down on that page.... surely they can figure out it's my wife, let's hope they're not too picky :-P.

Yeah, hope they have some common sense, they seem to be a bit picky about these things though! I keep worrying I've forgotten something too :( I hope this doesn't delay your application.

Hi everyone! I'm from the December thread, but I just wanted to drop in and say hello. We'll be keeping an eye on your progress, and I hope you'll keep an eye on ours as well.

Good luck, everyone! :) And congrats on getting your applications in.

Quakingaspen, how come you have not received your AOR letter yet????? it takes only 30 days to approval the sponsorship from CIC Misssauga.

Regards,
Goodnews,

DavidGarcin,

I'm sponsoring my wife, and it was her photo that she forgot to sign. One lousy photo not signed. They ARE picky!

Sorry to tell you this.....

I just read it says name birthdate and date taken on the back of ONLY one. Then placed in white envelope with name on it.

Whoops. Mine is still in that walmart folder with only date taken stamped on back of all of them :(

i remembered to do this but panicked when i read about signing, but i looked at the papers again and its not an actual signature you need, like it was said earlier just name, birthday and date pic was taken. i put mine in an envelope that i wrote "8 immigration photos" on it but i never wrote my name on it cos it was just me in the application no children etc
