Just to let people know we landed on Oct. 3, 2010 at ten p.m. at Lewiston Bridge with a truck, horse trailer, furniture, boxes. We had our titles, car had been exported, lists were filled out, goods to follow list was filled out, and landing took two hours even though we were the only people in the office. Twelve people working, four of whom were women, and the rest were men. The women did all the work, and the men stood around talking about the CFL or NFL, what they bought at Costco, where to get the best fast food, etc. Then, they had a "65" whatever that was, and we had to stand back from the counter and go to the back of the building. Every immigration officer had their hand on their gun, and watched the door. Some guy escorted in handcuffs, but then it seemed like it was some kind of mistaken identity, and the fuss was over. Back to more stamping and stamping, and initialing of papers.
So, landing isn't a complete breeze, and for god sake's total up your "goods you are bringing" and "your goods to follow" form. There is no space for this on the sheet, but they still wanted us to tell them the totals. I can't imagine what it would be like for people who are disorganized. . . .
