Lynw...I know how you feel..my email said that I shouldnt expect mine back from London for 4-6 weeks! Most people in the UK get theirs back in 3 weeks so I am anticipating 4 weeks, giving an extra week to get from the UK to Canada, which makes it around 29th September..which would be so cool as I first entered Canada to meet Tim on 28th September 2005!!! Would love to Land on that exact date!!

That would be romantic! What an anniversary, here's hoping that it comes true for you - at the latest.

It's very inconvenient that CIC request the passport before they're ready to turn it around and send it straight back - what if people have a family emergency, say? We of all people are likely to have loved ones in other countries. Of all things about the process, this is the one I'd choose to change if I could.

I got an email from CIC today! They posted my passport back to me after only a couple of days (thanks you darlings) but now it seems to be stuck in Canadian customs. Almost there! Come on postie... got to beat Britincanada to that visa ;D

Congrats Lynw...I think you will beat me, I have not heard from CHC-LONDON!! Although I may have had mine issued already I have a gut feeling that I wont see my passport until October..still to have it before Christmas is a bonus in its self :D :D

Too right about this side of christmas being a bonus - but you could beat me yet, those CIC London folks aren't known for their chattiness I hear ;) so even now your passport could be.. well, nestled alongside mine in the customs office :o 8)

I hope the majority of us will have our visa or close of getting one before Christmas! I would hate to see the officers who are working on our case go on holidays!

On the other hand my daughter's citizenship certificate still hasn't arrived yet even it has been ready to go for more than 4 weeks now! I guess things are so slow no matter when!

lynw was it about a month between when you got your aor and when you got a passport request? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Sydney will be kind and my timeline might be close to yours (?). You're almost there now!! Congrats.

It was indeed - you must be very close now. Sydney have been just lovely with me, I'm incredibly impressed. I emailed them over the weekend to check on the whereabouts of my passport, and I got a reply early monday morning their time. Here's hoping they treat you just as kindly and that you will be getting that magic PPR soon....

I have made up my mind that by mid October I will write to the embassy asking if i can submit additional information. Cause its been 1 1/2 months since its been at the embassy here and no word. No AOR. That is so silly. How hard is itto just send it so people can say, at least i know the embassy has it.?

Awesome, it'll be about a month for me this week. I'm wondering what Quebec does to slow down the process, but I'm sure I'll find out soon enough. Cheers for the info lynw and keep on the goodluck! :)

hope everything goes well for all of you :) sent mine in june as well. the embassy in the Philippines has my wife's passport already. its been with them for a month and a week now.

i noticed that they hold on to it usually for 2 months. some are lucky, some are not but i think the average im seeing is 2 months. im getting there and hopefully i get good result in time :)

lol do not be depressed. this forum is actually like a big support group for everyone registered here. we are all on the same boat, all waiting for news from the embassy. You would see a lot of complains but at the end of the day the only thing you can do is wait. If you filled out the forms properly and everyting is completely and genuine then you do not have to worry. that is my mindset at least because feeling depressed wont do us any good. cheer up and just pray :) we are all experiencing the same thing :)

Its not that sugar, its just that many people that applied around the same time as me are already getting AOR or requests for passports e.g. britincanada etc. And soon everyone frm my group will be gone and I will be alone on this forum waiting and waiting to hear from my very slow embassy.

honeybird,
britincanada and lynw etc are really lucky - theirs are being processed very fast. Yours still falls within normal processing times. Don't feel down just because there are some applications being processed so quickly. There are still about 35 June applicants waiting here and that's only the people on this forum.

;D

yep do not worry too much about it, just stay hopeful. I sent mine in june so im on the 3rd month now and hopefully everything goes well. i just like these forums because everyone is supportive of each other's application since we all want to be reunited with our families. :)
