What do they need the old passport for? It is dead and gone. You already sent a photocopy pages with your application. Sending the old one with the renewed one is a thrash.

I sent mine together because the old one expired in September last year. I just used a paper clip to hold them together. Please don't staple your passport. On my GC key it shows they put the visa on the new passport of course. I guess you can send only the new one but I just didn't want any delays or whatever.

Thanks @Cosey & @Ugoswife.. me I'm scared she, cos my old passport expires on the 20th of this month. But I think I'd send in the new one.

Your old passport is as good as invalid.
AVO Would not even put a visa on it, Because it has less than 6 months validity. Moreover, immigration should have stamped it as being cancelled or invalid.
You should send the new one only,Also, the new passport is linked to your old passport, if you check the data page, the old passport number is written there.

How many days does it usually take for DHL to pick up ones passport and send to Nigeria? They keep telling me 7-8 working days and that just doesn't make sense.

@Ugoswife, mine was picked up Dec 7 and we received it Dec 8 but it was from Accra to Kumasi in Ghana. So I think to Nigeria you should at least expect 4 business day. If you check the tracking number you get the exact date you going to receive.

Yeah. There is no tracking number yet until the parcel is picked up from AVO.

That's good to know, I'm very well too, thanks. Yeah, I know the wait is hectic but God is able for us all. As for me, I emailed AVO on Friday, sent them a little note and my police clearance from South Africa.
