AOR is sent to the sponsor and We received ours about 7 weeks after we submitted the application.
Some have received theirs less than 7 weeks while others more than that but usually should not exceed 90 days.

Thanks lamour. Mine will be 6 weeks ;) ;D

The status of my spouse's application is still "application received", and my AOR was November 24, 2014.
I guess you meant your application was sent November 24th 2014. The Date of AOR is the day you received acknowledgement email from CIC.

In any case, you are next. You Will hear from Accra in no time.

I sent it in October 3, and then received confirmation of receipt November 24, 2014...

Okay, I see how you mean. In that case, you should hear from them anytime soon. Moh was September.

Meanwhile, do you mind to please modify your timeline on the left side. App filed should be October 3 and not November 24th. AOR will then be November 24th.

Thanks in advance

Hello guys,
I am also sponsoring my wife.
The application was mailed on March 20TH and CIC received it on March 24.
AOR was received on April 25
SA was approved on MAY28 . Email for SA received on JUNE08.

I am wondering if my file has already been transfered on MAY 28th or JUNE08
My second question:. Since I leave in QUEBEC. As soon as I get CSQ from Quebec Governement do I have to mail it to BVC Accra.

Since I didnt receive any AOR from BVC Accra how can I find my wife's CIC client Number .

Thanks in advance for your replies

SA email you received usually mentions that the file has been forwarded to Accra VO. When exactly it was forwarded, I do not know. Physically or electronically forwarded.....I have no idea either. All that matters to me is that it was transferred.

You do not have to proactively send Your CSQ to Accra. MICC usually sends them a copy. But, I have read of cases in which Accra requested it directly from the applicant.

Use the application number on the SA email as your reference for the moment. That will locate your file as well.

Thanks Lamour for your reply.:)

You are welcome Whitelion.

The 16 months processing time on Accra VO is how long it will take to process 80% of applications, which means that 70% are processed in 12 months and 69% down are processed in less than 12 months

You can see all these from the government data set on processing times http://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/427337d0-7c36-4fed-8428-c6a63f8c19b3. It currently covers up to Dec 2014 and shows that spousal apps in Accra have a 50% processing time of 8 months. Therefore, the actual average is still less than a year.

I wish us all happy ending with the mercy of God!

Hi All!

Not sure why I didnt stumble on this thread ages ago. Glad to see everyone is doing well and hanging in there. Please keep hanging in there for those of you who are still expectant. For those of you who have received your letters to come pick up your visas I must say a huge congratulations. I'm a Nigerian and my wife is a Canadian citizen. We applied in October of 2014, she was approved in January and my file was sent to Accra requesting for my medical which I sent 2 days after. Then received a call from the embassy to send in my police cert (uk and nigeria) in April which I did. Just got a letter from them staying my visa is ready to pick up and to send my passport in which i sent via DHL last Friday. By God's grace it should be arriving their office this morning.

Not sure how long it will take for them to put the visa into the passport and let me know when its ready for pickup. Hope it wont be another long process
