Hello Everyone,

I have been following this thread on and off for the past couple of months and have been reading all your stories. I would like to thank you all for the information provided and also congratulations to those who have gotten their PR papers.

I am a Canadian citizen for the past 18 years (moved to Canada in my mid teens). I met my husband in Nigeria when I moved back home around 2009 for a couple of years to spend time with my extended family and I just wanted a break from the routine of Canadian life. I got married in 2012 and lived with my hubby for about 2 years before moving back to Canada and I shuttle back and forth to be with him.

I sent in my sponsorship application via an immigration lawyer on July 24, 2014 and was approved for sponsorship on September 22, 2014 and based on the email received was told my hubby's application will be sent to Ghana. Since then I or my lawyer have not heard a word from Accra. His application had medical and police clearance included, however I haven't yet paid the RPRF.

I have gotten the lawyer to send an email to Accra but I have two questions:
1. Should I request the VO notes to see what the hiccup is, if any?
2. Should I wait till I hear back from them to pay the RPRF?

Looking forward to your feedback.

Thanks.

however,i think ur application should be in accra already but be rest assured that when theres silence in accra its a good news in most cases unless wen theres additional document to request, yes u can pay ur rpr fee or better still wait to know wats going on there
all the best withnur application

Hello Opester,

Welcome to the thread, you're exactly one month ahead of me (My file was transferred on Oct 27) so it would be nice to follow your progress.

Getting the MP involved doesn't hurt, however they probably won't be of much help since you and I haven't exceeded the 16 month mark that's posted on the website. But it doesn't hurt and you can ask the MP to look into it.

However, yes order the notes ASAP and that will tell you what's going on.

I will also urge you to pay the fee and print and send the receipt to Accra or email them the receipt (pay it online). I did that in November and my notes show that they received it. It's always a good idea and it speeds things up a bit.

Having said all that, it seems that Accra has slowed down at the beginning of the fall, not sure why but I'm hoping it picks up again.

Also as Ghanaboy said, silence is sometimes good..I'm positive they opened your file, because I know they opened mine (my notes show that) so if they haven't requested additional docs or more proof then that's good. It just means they are slow slow slow

itsmytime,

Did you send the documents?

Delio,

any news?

Please lets keep sharing and supporting each other..the wait is still on and it looks like we're here for the long haul.

Keep us updated Opester please.

Lamour,

Mississauga is on middle of November applicants, hopefully you'll get SA by next month.

I'm hopinh NKT gets her visa and Accra starts to roll again like in 2014

Thanks for thinking of us MOH. I wish Canada immigration for spouse is same as U.S. The whole process here is not normal. But no choice. We are waiting and counting days.
You should hear from them anytime soon as well.
