Hi, MOH1979,
Been following the thread for some months past. Actually, I started my process at the end of April 2014. My husband sponsored me from Canada. We got our sponsorship approval on the 30th of June, and on the 9th of July, we got notified that our file had been moved to Accra. They requested for our landing fees in the 1st week of October , and on November 9th, they requested our passports (I and my 18 months old son).I sent the passports through VFS global, and on the 5th of december 2014 I got my Visa and COPR. So, I left the shores of Nigeria on the 26th of December and landed in Toronto on 27th of December 2014. Just thought to share my timeline to encourage everyone. I had applied for temporary visas three times without success, but just applying this once for permanent residency, it was granted. May God grant every one of us a smooth process so that those in waiting can reunite with their loved ones . Cheers!

Good luck this week everyone.

So for Spousal sponsorship, the last time someone got a VISA was on October 20th (nearly 4 months ago). Since then only Ghanaboy got a PPR and he is in a different program. It looks like we came in at the wrong time

And by reading everyone's replies, Accra sent out document requests for files received in the end of August (itsmytime, this was 2 weeks ago) so maybe they're working on the mid/end of September applicants (applications that were transferred in September) now. So Opester should hear something soon (docs request or PPR since his file was transferred on Sep 22).

NKT should be done soon also, please ask them what's going on this week

Then maybe Myself and Delio.

Mekus and Lamour, by the time they get to your applications, hopefully Accra will be fast again.

You are right MoH1979. I have actually decided to remove the whole out of my mind and just continue to wait. My wife just had a baby and she is pretty much pre-occupied herself. Accra cannot stop what has already been destined. Time is all they can waste...Good luck everyone!

Mekus, Congratulations to you and your wife on your new born baby.
It is indeed a waiting game. Our lives are pending and put on hold until we reunite finally with our loved ones. Painful as it is, but nothing we can do. That's the world we live in.

Thank you very much for sharing! this is the kind of information that helps us and give us hope. I guess it took 6.5 months for you since it's you and the baby plus they requested the RPRF fee. If that was paid earlier then maybe it would've been 5.5-6 months.

Well congrats ! and it seems Accra is still doing a good job. I hit 5 months today exactly since Application filed. Maybe I'll hear something within the next month or 2.

Congrats on the baby! this only shows CIC that your marriage is strong and genuine and surely they will process your application in a timely manner. This is great news and can't hurt

The other thing that's good for Mekus and Lamour is that Mississauga is taking 3 months to give SA. In my opinion, this will give Accra time to clear its backlog (for spousal anyway) because Mississauga is slow in sending them applications. So I think your second phase will be much quicker.

Do you know or does anyone know about Quebec applicants. I live in Montreal and will also need to apply for Quebec immigration. I know my stage might be different but I am yet to find anyone from Montreal as of yet on this thread.

All Quebec residence must be accepted by the province of Quebec.Quebec has its own immigration rules and laws that are differnt from all other provinces. I have to go through this Quebec immigration stage after I receive SA from CIC.

After notifying CIC about the baby, I received a snail mail from them telling me that I cannot sponsor the baby because she is Canadian citizen. I had intended to sponsor her together with my wife and when they get here, then I will apply for citizenship certificate for the baby. But CIC had other ideas. I am currently processing my daughter's citizenship certificate but I am just hoping it will not delay them more......Any input guys!

Shouldn't affect your application at all. Two different applications, so don't worry it's all good. If anything, it'll make your wife's application faster.
