Thank you all...much appreciated.

After notifying CIC about the baby, I received a snail mail from them telling me that I cannot sponsor the baby because she is Canadian citizen. I had intended to sponsor her together with my wife and when they get here, then I will apply for citizenship certificate for the baby. But CIC had other ideas. I am currently processing my daughter's citizenship certificate but I am just hoping it will not delay them more......Any input guys!

Since your child is a citizen because you are, why should they complicate matters. Well, hopefully you'll get ideas from more experienced members

Sorry Lamour, I'm not familiar with Quebec. You can post your questions on the main thread at the top of this page and see if any of the senior members can guide you. The main spousal thread.

Thanks Moh. I'll do.

Hello everyone,

Please I need your assistance as soon as possible. My Husband is a PR and moved to Canada on the 17th of January. He got a job and started work on the 2nd of February. Now he plans to apply for me at the end of this month (I live in Nigeria). How to we go about the sponsorship evaluation part. Does he need to get the Option C or is there any other way, since he has not worked in Canada before and has not been filing for taxes. He was working in Nigeria as a health personnel before moving over to Canada. Please your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Neelzar

Your husband will have to complete all the forms and you'll do medical etc. He can show evidence of funds by employment letter, bank account statements, savings if he has etc. The list of other documents are contained in the application forms. If he is filling his tax for the first time Option C will not be available to him for the next 6 months min.

Thanks Ghanaboy but I don't believe Accra has anything to do with this. Once I get her citizenship card, I will apply for Canadian passport for her and other kids and they can travel with their mum. I think if I advise Accra then they might actually complicate things for me.

@MoH1979
You are right. They are two separate applications. I am hoping it speeds up my wife application. We have two other kids that I have applied and received their citizenship certificates

Hi Neezlar,

The option C is not applicable in your case, he just needs payslips and proof that he can support you without going on welfare.

Regards and good luck.

All these responses are fine but I need to lay this emphasis , Your husband should be able to sponsor you to Canada provided he declared in his application as married and you're his legal wife before he came to Canada . This is the mistakes some Africans men made and they will be declared their application to be "MISREPESENTAION"

Thanks,
POLICAP
