Thanks boatswife, for sharing that. It does ease my mind. :) It's good to know.

Going on 1.5 year anniversary. I told myself I won't go back to Ghana until we get PPR. The unknown timeline is hard...

Thinking of you all, sending positive energy, hope and patience.
Thanks for making me smile becos. Yes wishing the best outcome for all and soon

Just celebrated alone in Canada, but online celebrated with my husband our 1 year anniversary this past weekend.
:(
Life isn't easy.

AVO is doing what they can, there are a lot more applications than just the few of us that are following on here. I contact my MP and they found out that CIC in Miss has received my husband's medical, but in Accra they have Not Linked it to the account, almost 3 months gone by.
We keep our faith and hope that soon one day we be together again.
Every application is different and each has their own story. Just know they are processing them as fast as they can. I know how hard it is to be apart. Let the Lord keep us going. Hope to see many more PPR's this new month coming.
Happy anniversary! You'd be together for the next one :)

Happy anniversary butterfly girl! Also celebrated ours alone but I had our first born son whom my husband has not seen/held yet with me so it was a bittersweet moment. Praying and hoping the next one we all get to spend it with our hubby's.

Happy belated anniversary to all those who had to celebrate alone. The next one will be filled with laughter and smiles in Jesus name!

So hard going through messages in the sept 2016 outland applicants and seeing people with the same timeline getting ppr and visas. Some have even landed. We all need to be in a prayer mode to hear some good news around here....

Hi Nyhiraba:
Sorry to intervene on this topic but i don't see the logic behind your answer. Perhaps you can provide an example as I don't understand how you came about this conclusion. Here is my perspective and perhaps you can also share yours too.

I only say this because for example, Timosky just received his ppr. He filed in April and his application landed in AVO in September. Are you saying all the applications which were received in AVO in May, June, July and August are bypassed? We have applications in this forum that fall on those months and we are still waiting. We also filed later, after April . I just feel like AVO counts from when it was received in Mississauga not when the application arrives at AVO. I hope you get my point. If anyone else too has an opinion i enourage to share your thoughts as well. Just so that we all understand this process together ;)

Thank you
You are right TeamCOR, I just spoke to a friend who used to work in immigration in Canada. She mentioned that counting starts from the day Mississauga gets a complete file from you. Also, regarding the topic of which months the officers are working on, she said even they the officers would not be able to tell you as it varies. Each case is unique so if they are working on an a july file today and an march file they had requested more info for the applicant comes back, they may switch back to it. The only guarantee we have is the newly imposed 12-month deadline the govt. has announced. Apparently, compared to other offices, the AVO is one of the smaller and not-so-well funded ones. With that info and the knowledge that they are tasked with 8 countries' files, that may explain the processing time differences between AVO and the other offices.

Apparently, it seems the problem is that we don't make enough noise as a group of people. I am told we don't use our voting power enough and protest. When was the last time you heard (West) Africans in Canada were protesting about the length of visa processing? The countries that are moving fast have rattled politicians and complained and are having "money thrown at their offices". Up until a few years ago, only African and Caribbean countries were required to submit DNA results for children they were sponsoring. The Black Law society took the government to court over it before the playing field was evened out for us.

Hi Butterfly girl,

When did you request for the GCMS Notes and how long into one's application does one request for the note?

I ordered them mid December, which is 7 months after we filed. You can order any time after 4 or 5 months. We are now sitting at 9 and half months.

Today is a new month. In God's name I claim that this to be my husbands Visa month. And many more of us waiting, I pray we get PPR's Amen

Congratulations! Am so glad you were able to over come this delay. We agree with you and claim for our own too :)

wow...why? They pump in more money or spread it to other other countries....what's the office in Nigeria doing?

this is just wrong...the Philipines takes 3 months...

Yes, I agree. I know they have a lot of countries to work for. But we pay same money for application like other countries and processing times have to be the same for everyone. If they don't manage to process applications in time, they have to hire more people to process everything in time.
