We just contacted DHL and the only way we can schedule a pick up is if we have a DHL account. HOWEVER the only way we can make an account is if we own a business. We do not own a business so we can't make an account. Can somebody PLEASE help!!!

This is getting ridiculous.

Sent our application June 16th. Received letter to send in passport and other documents 4 days ago.

Why are we still wasting time on this topic, do you want to hear that is not possible or what?send your passport and your family member can even arrange pick up from DHL in Ghana, the difference is that they will send the passport wherever your address specifies. Please don't make simple things complicated by asking questions that might lead to people ignoring others serious question.

Thank you to those who have genuinely tried to help our situation. It looks as though nobody has experienced the same difficulty we are having so I am posting this for those who
A) are Nigerian who have a Canadian spouse
B) are currently living in Canada or USA
C) are unable to make a courier account to allow them to pick up your passport and have it sent back to you in North America
We are sending off his passport to Accra blindly hoping that when it is ready to be picked up at the Canadian embassy someone there will have a heart to help us out to send it back and not discard of it. If and when we get his passport back I will post it so that those going through our situation have some guidance.
Although these questions may seem menial to some, I am positive one day they will be of help to someone because in the 168 pages in this thread nobody seems to have experienced the same dilema as us.

I am from Nigeria and I live in Canada. I advised you based on experience and not mere talk. My only concern is that this is straight forward that is looking complicated for no apparent reasons. When you send your passport to Ghana they are not idiots over there, their main concern is to complete your visa process. Do you know that all your parents in 9jar need is the email for pick? They can walk inside DHL office with your pickup information and arrange for US delivery.

Tryingyourbest:
your husband must return to his country of birth and send his passport from there not from USA.
He must enter canada from Africa not from USA.

I have a question and I hope I didn't make a mistake..

Mu situation is I'm a Canadian Citizen for over 20 years and I had married an American Citizen and we had a baby boy who is 5 years old now (He was born in Canada)

I had done an inland application for her and she was due to become a Canadian last year but tragically she died from a sudden illness.

I have since re-married a Ghanaian girl because I wanted to give my son a mother figure and for him to have siblings plus she is a lovely lady who loves him like her own. She has never been married before and has no children.

We married in June and I started the sponsorship application in September (yes i have to go through this again :() and got SA approval on October 27.

My question is, I didn't include my son as HER DEPENDENT...is that ok? In the application I said she has no dependents..I hope that's right. We don't have kids together and we haven't lived together except I have visited her twice.

Also, she has changed her phone number so we sent a letter to the VO to notify them and we printed the file number and UCI on the envelope, will they match that letter to our application? I really hope so or should we fax or call them?

We sent everything upfront, medicals, police checks and fees (RPRF fee as well), pics, chats etc etc

Thank you all and I hope this week brings good news for all..

Dear Ghanaboy, I am sorry to hear that the Accra thread is quiet. I was on this thread until my husband was turned down for his PR to Canada. I have since joined another thread. With the Accra denial rate being 40%, perhaps this has lead to more people joining the appeals process thread. Alternatively, 60% of folks have hopefully been approved and are moving forward in coming to Canada.

BEST WISHES!
