Nice...
Kindly advice why would we require transcripts for our certificates...(I thought, it is applicable only in cases where the certificates are not in English)

Transcripts are required for Credential Assessment as well as for taking admission in any college/university or any sort of course, specially where we require to gain points on PL (Prior Learning) which in turn can help us to get exemption from some subjects already learnt in home country (but this is subject to review by that particular college and is not fixed).

My dear forum friends,

Today NDVO returned my passports without visa along with a letter asking me to get a PCC from Saudi Arabia for me and my spouse within 45 days. I was in Saudi from 1990 to 1996. Its very difficult to obtain a Saudi PCC. I am in a very difficult situation. Please seniors advise how to get a Saudi PCC if it is possible to get one now.

KD bro, transcripts are a consolidated marksheet, stamped by the Controller of Exams/ Registrar of the Uni.

they are needed by 'evaluation authorities' like WES etc,
to check where our degree/course stands in comparison to Canadian degree/course.

suppose we hv to do MBA, or any masters course, we wud need to clear their UG course,
if we get a positive evaluation report for our UG, we can get directly into the PG course.

hence it saves a lot of things.

as u r focussing on CGA like me
u got to have it, made and sealed in uni. envelope.

it takes 2-3 weeks by indian unis, so apply asap.

also, get at least 5-7 sets.

WES, needs transcripts along with the syllabus, and the system of clearing the exams (obtaining passing marks)

dhakke kha kha ker Delhi uni key, sub arrange kia, and today got it all sealed in DU envelopes.

but yes, they were supportive and systematic.

rest, amit has described aptly.

I got my credential evaluation done from WES last year. They do not require sealed transcripts from Univ as they have some waiver program with Indian and other Universities/institutions. Some degrees require transcripts directly from institution though. You have to send original marksheets or notorized copies. ICAS canada require them though.

This might help: http://www.wes.org/ca/required/index.asp

someone from this thread has got stuck (a month back) as he had the Transcripts, but didnt hv the course syllabus,
now he is finding it very difficult to ask his uni. for syllabus, while sitting in canada.

so it is better always, to be fully equipped, before applying.........
doing things while in india is easier, than requesting people over phone.

WES s norms are easier than CGA's , that s why i have got all the documents
Transcripts, Syllabus, Passing/marking system, duly Authenticated.

@anil_India

What is the procedure to get the transcripts from University?
Do we have to send the original Certificates and Mark lists to University?

Kindly advice.

goto your Uni s website or Controller of Exams section in head branch,
than find its Transcripts application section.

DU has it online, the application form.

as i live near DU, so did it personally.

fill/submit the form mentioning the subjects u cleared, attach the marksheets copy, pay the fees,
they ll tell you when u may come to collect it.

apply for at least 5-7 sets.

in DU, the first set costs Rs 1500, and Rs 100 for the extra copy.

for Syllabus,
in DU there is a 'Record Center', i took the syllabus, got the photocopies,
then met the incharge of 'Publication House' who got it Authenticated from 'Deputy Registrar'.

this laborious excercise shall pay definitely, once u r in foreign land.

Reg. my Masters Diploma (Transcripts) -
SCDL, Pune did it online.
I sent them the DD and they have the system to get it done via courier.

CGA is going to ask for everything, yes WES is slightly lenient.
and they deserve to ask for the same.
CGA is CGA.
