Alhamdulilah----I received PPR2 yesterday.

Visa officer skipped PPR1 step and sent me PPR2 directly.

However, I need forum members guidance on one thing---- My passport is going to expire on 26-May-2013. I have also heard that as per international law, landing visa is not issued if your passport doesn't have a six-month's validity left.

What should I do now? Should I sent passports to IslamAbad and let them speak or should I write back to visa officer and seek his/her opinion? Following is mentioned in PPR2 instructions:

The passports must be the same as
the photocopies submitted to London in Step 1. If you have obtained new passports, then you must start
again from Step 1.

Note: I have applied for passport renewal two weeks back.

I will appreciate feedback of forum members, especially from those who have passed through such situation earlier.
Many many Congratulations on PPR issuance, great

Excellent work by SMSH.

Seniors, please guide me on:

1) How soon one can apply for passport renewal in Pakistan? My daughter's passport is due for renewal in July 2013.
2) How long does it take to get the passport renewed. One of my friend told me that it takes 45-60 Days!

thanks

You can apply for a passport as soon as your validity period is less than 1 year from the current date
So I request all to check on this and apply for passports if it is expiring till 1st quarter of 2014
For all family members. Also note if any of your family member has manual/hand written passport he can renew it even expiry period is more than 1 year from current date but he has to apply for e-passport
I did it for my 1 child in UAE
I hope this may help some applicants

Now a days, they are making new passports with 10 year validity, which is great.
Normally, they will renew your passport if its validity is less than 6 months. However, you can still request for renewal if your passport's validity is less than one year but you'll need to write an application justifying the reasons.
Source: I got my renewal from Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh lately.

Thanks kaafmeem, I think I can apply with 4 months of validity remaining. This is a good news that now we can get validity of 10 Years.

I strongly agree with SMSH.. you must apply for renewal of pp 8-9 months before the expiry. You never know what's going to happen and when you case gets a next step. plus this step is out of our control, so better shouldnt take any risk.

Moreover, the dept has other issues also which is impacting pp delivery and even urgent pp are not being delivered on time. I faced this issue in UAE last year and they delivered the pp after 1 months from agreed delivery time.

You must send a CSE to LVO asap as passport validity should be atleast 6 months. If you send this passport, they may send it back saying not enough validity.
