Do we need to apply for PR card after/before landing......???
As per below link!

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/prcard.asp

Thanks in advance

SMSH

yes dear,
the PR visa is for one time use
when landing as the immigrant you should provide your canadian address to the immi. offficer at the airport cuz
your pr card will be delivered to that address.
this is kone of the MOST IMPORTANT steps one MUST do upon arrival

The three main things to be done after arriving canada are:

apply health insurance
PR Card (PRC will be delivered at the address you provided)
Bank account

job and others are you personal tasks and prefernces

advice is apply for PRC asap as it took very long time also
and NO bank a/c will be opened without PRC :)

Sir

If you will land in Ontario , eligibility for health insurance is after 3 months , you need to have your first bank statement for this , and bank mails your statement of account after 45 days of opening of bank account. - This is what happened with my sister in March 2013.
You double check this

You can get your SIN registration on Toronto Airport , all you need to have is Photocopies of your Bio Data page of your passports (Passports of all Members accompanying you).

Stay Blessed

Dear Saeed,

Long birth form is actually the latest form b (which includes all your children and parental details). Hope it helps.

excerpt from wikipedia...

"Long form - legal size or two page form with details of the person, their parents', place of birth, certification by the parents, signature and stamp of the issuing agency or department. Recent forms are in English and French."

And i think the birth certificate carries all the information above. In my case, it does and i am gonna send only the birth cert.

Yea...but just to be clear....this limit is for VISIT or WORK visa...

On permanent residence visa (immigration, first trip, like ours) we immigrants can carry even a million dollars cash. (If we had it) :)

I believe as per regulation you can't carry more than the limit when you are going out of country on any type of Visa....
however there is no limit for DD in your name....because that you can't offer to some one for any influence....
that's why hard cash is not allowed in big quantities....so better keep 5000$ for and plus 5000$ for your wife...when you travel to Canada and make your draft from an international bank like ....HSBC/ABN/Standard Chartered etc....for the rest proof of funds
Also remember that cash limit is only for adults +18 so one couple can take max $ 10k according to new rules....
however you check some official for this rule in written info....

(Like the processing time info), u believe wrong :)

Cock n bull carried 15K all cash...2 calgary carried 14 k......both travelled alone.....another friend of mine (couple) carriied 30K ALL cash....another forum friend carried 25K, all cash....(All these people travelled from pak to canada, when the limit was 10 K USD....now its 5K)

They tell this even in the IOM session. That for permanent residence visa, there is NO CASH LimIT on the airport. since this is "onCE in a lifetime, single trip/single entry" visa, which will be cancelled/crossed out as soon u land in canada.

So before writing something, kindly verify bro. People expect verified info from senior members like u. No offense.

But as I said, u should BELIEVE and do what U think is right. So don't carry more than 5k cash , ok, happy ? :)

P.s: I also believe that IF someone is nervous keeping huge amount in cash (for safety reasons), then they should carry "part cash/part draft", (I also recommend it) but that's for safety reason ONLY (like robbery, lost, peace of mind etc)....But IF someone wants to carry ALL cash, they can.

The purpose of this limit on visit/work visa is cross-border money trafficing...but when u go on permanent residence visa, its obvious u r selling all your assets and goin to live there permanently....and airport staff r not idiots...they know the difference between visas, that's their job :)

Apologies for confusing!
Please share some official Pakistan govt. link where no limits are mentioned if someone is migrating
This will help others too...
Thanks in advance
