Aw thanks :)

But it does seem like a lot of IOs, no matter where they are or who they are interviewing, approach this process believing that are all just trying to come to Canada to take advantage of their system or something! I understand that scams and stuff happen, but if you've been with your spouse for years, how likely is it that you are doing nothing more than trying to scam the system?

thats exactly it. If you have been with someone for years and years and you got proof up the waazoo been to your spouses country a few times, how long do you have to be involved before Immigration thinks you just might be serious about each other? I mean who would stick with a person for years and go through all the immigration crap if not for love? I dont know of anyone who is stupid enough to put themselves through this for years without moving on to someone else if you were not inlove. We have had to go through alot, but our marriage is alot stronger and we are more unified than ever, even though we are as lonely has hell. Our second anniversary is Aug 14th and we wont be together for it again this year. But its ok, our day is coming!! :D

Our deadline for documents to be sent in is August 13th. We have been trying to get a police clearance certificate but its not even working. They now tell my husband that he has to have proof he has lived at that address for a year and if not they will not issue the pcc. My husband has lived in Pune for less than a year. The file has not been shifted from the Passport office to the police station for long time a month. We are seriously running out of time. They told him to bring in a affridavit from the landlord and some letter from the society there, say he has lived there for a year. None of that is possible since he has not lived there for a year. We are so upset because our file will be cancelled if we dont have the documents in and he will lose the visa. Our file is stuck in the passport office. What do we do?

I cant believe this....i came back to india after 8 yrs...good/bad fact is this is india...anything and everything can be done...u should not have any problems in getting your paper...i got mine in 3-5 days....dont u know any higher up ppl....money talks...i know this sounds bad, but unfortunately u know how it is sometimes here....good luck!

Boyee, I am so sorry to hear of these further problems. I hope that this time your hubby will get the police clearance.
If he really can't, try getting a letter from the police station saying that they won't give him the clearance because he's been there less than a year, and send it in with the other things they asked for.

No my husband doesnt know anyone higher up in that city he is not from there so he doesnt know anyone of influence. He did manage to get one of the documents that the police asked for. He is going to the police station tomorrow with his documents and a pocketfull of influence lol. If this was in the city he grew up then we would have had it in 2 days. We did for the application. But not in a different city things take longer I guess. I think we will know something tomorrow.

Canadianwoman, please dont be sorry for me. My heart is hurting alot more for what you are going through right now. My deepest heartfelt sympathies go out to you and your family. Two huge things have happened and I can not imagine what you must be feeling like. If ever there is a time to need your spouse its now. I just pray that the God of all comfort give you some peace. Your in my prayers and thoughts. We dont know each other but I feel like we are rowing in the same immigration boat. Hang in there love. hugs.

boyee,

Has the VO not replied to you about an extension at all?

When we were putting together our application, it took us a very long time - simply because my husband had a really difficult time getting an Iraqi Police Certificate from where he was living. It took about 11 months! We finally decided to send it without it and wrote a letter explaining in detail all the efforts we have been doing for 11 months to get the police certificate. We provided proof of these efforts and indicated at the end that obtaining one is still in process and we will forward it immediately once we received it. We sent in the application on January 6, and submitted the police check sometime in mid May.

Perhaps if your deadline is approaching and the VO is not responding, you can do something similar. Write a well put letter explaining everything your husband has been doing to obtain the documents you need, the difficulties you've had, and prove them (things like receipts from places when you put in a request, name of contacts he's been dealing with, etc) and send it to the VO and clearly indicate you will send in the documents immediately.

I hope you won't have to go to that extreme, but maybe if the deadline is fast approaching and you don't have everything you need, you can send it a couple of days before the deadline.

Praying for you two, you've already been through a lot. Good luck my dear.

thank you nncs :)

did email Delhi. I told them that our pcc was not easy to get and I explained why. I asked them if we could send in what documents we had and as soon as the police clearance was ready we could send it to them. they replied, to send in all the documents and it will be processed as soon as they receive it. I wished they would just come out and say, ok if you dont have pcc, just send it all in when you get them your file will not be closed. I just dont trust delhi much lol..

any news/luck yet Boyee?

well he got the letter from the society. The guy was very nice about it so thats no problem. My husband went to the police station again and offered donation, but they rejected it saying "they need documents to verify because if my husband goes a broad and gets into mess they will need to know where to find him". If he doesnt have the other document he will NOT get the pcc. Thats what he was told. My husband is very upset since we are running out of time. He doesnt understand why they wont take his donation. It was alot of money. Still nothing.

gah, it must be a nightmare dealing with such a blatantly corrupt country. I feel for you, would have exploded with frustration long before now!

Hugs, stay strong...

frustrated doesnt begin to describe it. Any other time everyone is clammoring to pick your pocket, suddenly someone has a conscious LOL.

Update!

My husband contacted me pretty early this morning to tell me that now all things are at the police station and PCC will be issued on Monday. He got the help of the property manager who knew someone in the police department and thats the only way things got rolling. So far we will be meeting the august 13th deadline with not many days to spare. Thank you Jesus!! :)

I'm not experienced in this but I wanted to give you **hugs!**. You two have been through so much and you'll get through this! Can you contact CIC and tell them that you need more time? I hope someone more knowledgeable comes along and gives you more answers.

do u think calling CIC helps? they only give information like file status.

Congrats Boyee...glad to hear good news for you.

Yay woo sounds like you are finally getting the ball rolling again.
I am so glad that your husband could get help. I would have been very upset not to see your husband get his well deserved visa.

Congrats and best of luck for smooth sailing from here on out.
