Hello Folks

Dont know if there's already a thread about this new piece of valuable information that CIC released a few weeks ago. But since I couldn't see one so I though I'd share the link and my two cents on it!

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/reports/ee-midyear-2015.asp

This is by far the most concrete source of data regarding EE till date. I'll just post the most crucial piece of information for all the anxious EE applicants between 350-500 as thats that point interval representing the bulk of people here:

Points No of Active Candidates
450 - 499 1,786
400 - 449 8,770
350 - 399 14,597

This is created using the data as of 6 Jul so there have been 2 draws since then with 3097 ITA since then using all of the people from 450-499 (1786) as well as candidates above that threshold (395).

Its clear there aren't enough 450+ Candidates right now to have another draw which is why they didn't have draws in the last two weeks and they wont have one next week either. I'd even say there wont be any draws in the next two weeks. They'll wait till they have enough 450+ profile to have a draw. They do say that pool is growing at around 1500 new profile per week.

This also comes as a big deterrent for people below 400.
Tough luck folks! With 8770 candidates between 400 and 450, Anyone below 400 can say goodbye to their dream of getting an ITA this year.

What do you guys think??

what do I think? well i think express entry is crap. this data is not telling the whole picture. they need to include the occupations that got ITA's and how those occupations are needed for canadas progress. We have seen a cook get ITA and a working nurse struggling to get over 400 points. So how do we know express entry is working?

I agree! EE is not addressing Canada's skill requirement and the system is a mess!

I wasn't commenting on the effectiveness on the system though! I was barely quoting the numbers.

I think you are right that those below 400 points should probably be thinking of ways to improve their numbers. Anything can happen, but it doesn't look good for them right now.

I don't understand why people are still caught up in occupations. Those with LMIAs have employers that have proven to the satisfaction of the Canadian government that foreign workers are needed in those jobs. And those with the highest non-LMIA scores have been chosen not for their occupations but for their adaptability in areas such as education, language, and foreign experience - factors that make a successful adjustment to Canadian society more likely. For people with a score higher than 453, occupation has been irrelevant, other than the requirement that it be in NOC 0, A, or B.

my personal belief people below 450 dont stand a chance . there are always going to be new people every month as people keep getting experience. example people who qualify for CEC or who aim for CEC
