Thanks for your response here.
Unfortunately, I am applying from my home country, and not an inland applicant.
s per your GCMS notes - Eligibility cleared? What about Security Screening?

CSIS is not longer sending reports through the email. Instead your will have to make a request under the Access to Information Act.

Hello Legalfalcon,
I was wondering if could help provide some input on what you think regarding my most recent gcms notes. I took screenshot of the pages I need help with and I tried uploading the screenshots on here but that's not working. Is there any other way I can forward those pages to you?

If your application has been approved, you can expect the PPR within 1-2 weeks. The PPRs are sent in batches.

The turn around time after you send the passport is based on the Visa office. Usually 2-5 weeks.
@legalfalcon hello Sir, we finally got the golden e-mail PPR :) just one last question...do you know if they send the passport to Chandigarh India for visa or New Delhi???? everyone's saying that for spousal applications it's always new delhi but my husband's passport was sent to chandigarh and it's in processing with the IRCC....do you know how long do they take to send the passport back?>> please let me know////// and thank you so very much for all your help.....god bless!

Definitely order another set of GCMS, sometimes that helps. Try calling IRCC.
Also see section "G" of my post, you can contact CSIS and enquire.

Apart from that, there is nothing much you can do.
Does IRCC check the information provided in personal history? Like information of syblings ?

No, but when your siblings apply, it may be in conflict if its not correct.

Raised CSE, was told “background check currently being processes”..and assuming there is a typo...still not sure...it means bcheck in progress or done? (I hope it is security...? as criminally passed long time ago and security was always not started) Any thoughts, anyone? :)

G. What can an applicant do if his application is stuck at BGC?

If an application is stuck at BGC for a very long time, i.e. more than 3-5 months after your eligibility is cleared you have two options:

a) You can inquire about the status of your security check directly from CSIS. To enquire about the status of a an immigration screening file, the following information is required*:

a. a full name,
b. date and place of birth,
c. the signature of the applicant, and
d. a return mailing address as replies are not sent by email or fax.
e. If you are enquiring on behalf of another person, the request must be accompanied by the Consent Form to Disclose Information to a Designated Individual.
f. Mail or fax the request to CSIS at the attention of:
Assistant Director, Operations
Canadian Security Intelligence Service
P.O. Box 9732, Station T
Ottawa, ON
K1G 4G4
Fax: 613-369-2954
It takes CSIS 8 weeks to process these requests. Information on this is available at https://www.csis.gc.ca/scrtscrnng/index-en.php#bm02 Some applicants have successfully obtained information from CSIS.

b) If CSIS has finished the security screening, then your file is pending final review with IRCC. There is nothing much you can do at this stage. However, there is anecdotal evident that ordering GCMS notes does initiate the process. This is because every time you order GCMS notes, an agent will review the notes before releasing them. If the file has been reviewed by the Agent, and is pending posting the update on the system, the same will be done by the agent when he is reviewing the notes and this will move your file ahead.

1- This portion needs update probably as I think CSIS notes can be ordered through ATIP website?
2- Is there a way to know if security is finished from reading GCMS notes? (i.e. by seeing S.15(1) on Admissibility page OR by the size of space that is on a page. For example if it is a full page that security is passed)?
3- London LVO seems to be taking 6-9 months for security check. How come they are different from the 2-3 months that the actual security check takes? is it because they take time to process after CBSA or CSIS gets back to them?

Thanks,

Hi @legalfalcon ... does request of CV and student info form cause delay in PR process? I completed 6 months and BG check still in progress as per IRCC agent.
Your thoughts please...

If you go into 'Review Required' queue, be prepared for a long and patient wait.... :(

No. Usually if your have a PhD or are pursuing a higher education in sciences, then IRCC will ask for this infor for BGC. This is routine.
