The 6 months is cumulative and not continuous. Also, UAE does not issue PCC to non-residents. So if you no longer reside in UAE, you can mention this in LoE. Before that check the latest rules that pertain to UAE.
Hey @legalfalcon

The new rule of IRCC came out which mention that you only need to provide PCC of a country if you are staying 6 months in a row. So now Do I need it?

Schedule 4 is not mandatory but you should have uploaded it including the certificate of nomination since you are a PNP applicant. Anyway, either you raise a CSE or wait for the ADR.

The same thing for Schedule A. This is usually requested if you have answered Yes to any statutory question, or could be requested for other reasons too. Not all applicants get this ADR.

Check the documents here if you have missed anything. This link had helped a lot.

I would be grateful to know if you could kindly share your thoughts on this.

My documents status has changed from "We are reviewing additional docs" to "Additional docs not needed". Does this mean that they are satisfied with all the docs I submitted? Is this a positive sign or that they can even take a negative decision on the docs provided ?

Thanks

I appreciate the great work you are doing in the forum, I’m wondering if you can help me understand my GCMS as my security code change from S.15(s) to S.21 ?
For s15/16 see
https://www.getgcms.com/blog/s15-s16-top-right-gcms-denote/

21 (1) The head of a government institution may refuse to disclose any record requested under this Act that contains

  • (a) advice or recommendations developed by or for a government institution or a minister of the Crown,

  • (b) an account of consultations or deliberations in which directors, officers or employees of a government institution, a minister of the Crown or the staff of a minister participate,

  • (c) positions or plans developed for the purpose of negotiations carried on or to be carried on by or on behalf of the Government of Canada and considerations relating thereto, or

  • (d) plans relating to the management of personnel or the administration of a government institution that have not yet been put into operation,
if the record came into existence less than twenty years prior to the request.

If the information in your GCMS notes pertains to the above, it will be retracted and the corresponding section will be listed on the page from where it is retracted.

I want to know if I could possibly be in SS as I have received the below email from LVO. The last sentence seems to be a hint in my opinion that I'm in for a long ride. My BGC started on 9 Dec

Appreciate if you can provide some guidance on this.

We confirm background checks are still currently in process for your application. Please be advised that there are various checks that a file may need to undergo during the application process. Unfortunately, we are unable to advise when these checks will be completed. We will contact you again as soon as we are able to, however, you should note this is unlikely to be for quite some time yet.

We appreciate your patience during this process.

Yours sincerely,

EXP
This is a generic response. If you think that you may be under SS, you can consult your GCMS notes or you can request cBSA / CSIS notes. These notes will only tell you if the agency has finished its involvement in your application.

Hi Legalfalcon,

You helped me earlier. I need one more help.

I have entered my designation in Work History as 'Territory Manager - North' and 'Sales Manager - North' for NOC-6221 (Technical Sales Specialist) as per my reference letters. But in Personal History I have mistakenly entered my designation as 'Territory Manager - Sales' and 'Sales Manager'.

I have already submitted my application. Should I raise CSE to get corrections in my designations in my personal history.
Its is small error and not a major one. Your don't have to raise a CSE and get this corrected, but you can do it to be on the safer side.

Hi @legalfalcon . I have a question (my timeline is in signature):

Here's what I got back from CPC today (I had emailed them about status): "The final eligibility assessment has not yet been made." - What does that mean? I know it means eligibility is not passed yet, but does it imply "recommended pass"?

Any insight may be helpful. I've ordered GCMS notes (from getgcms) which should be delivered sometime later this month, I believe.

Thanks in advance!
The eligibility is done in two stages. First and analyst review the documents and make a recommendation (recommended passed / review required). Then an officer will review it and make a final determination.

In your case without the GCMS notes it is difficult to say anything.

Hi @legalfalcon ,

Just want your expert opinion on this, as it is freaking me out completely.

My dad's application was rejected in 2009 and said that he can't apply for next 2 years, but my dad than decided he didn't wanted to applying again and threw away all the details of application including the application number. In this application I was also included as a dependent ( my age was 18-19 years back than )

Now in 2018 i am applying for EE with my wife being the primary applicant and myself being the secondary applicant, so does the rejection of my dad's application in 2009 has any side effects on my application ?
After getting the ITA do i need to mention about the rejection of my dad's application ( which we don't know the application number ) in LOE ? Can this reduce my probablity of getting selected ?

Is it true that if the case is more than 10 years old it doesn't matters at all ?

Any help would be really appreciated.
Your Dad's rejection will not impact your application, however, you will have to provide the details and explain the circumstances under which it was rejected.

You can procure the details and the documents of your father's application. You can contact GET GCMS with the name of your father, date of birth, and the year in which the application as filed. They can help you obtain the copy of the application.

Hi @legalfalcon, I've been to embassy for an interview last June and we still haven't had any decision yet. Our lawyer and MP said we are in security and background check. As you suggested GCMS notes, shall we apply for GCMS and CBSA too ?
If yes, can you please tell where to apply for CBSA ?
Thank you in advanced!
Applying for CBSA is entirely your choice. However, CSIS and CBSA are both involved in the security screening, but the CBSA report is more detailed and also includes the GCMS notes.

If you are in Canada, you can request CBSA report from the ATIP website yourself. Alternatively, you can place your order at www.getgcms.com and they can file it for you.

Hi @legalfalcon ,

Embassy stamped sticker of TRV on my PP which is valid for 1 year, and I got WP at airport that is also valid for 1 yr.

So after 10-11 months, I will apply for extension of WP, right!..so do I need to re-apply for TRV sticker on PP too along with WP extension? or only WP extension? as after extension of WP I will be eligible to apply for PR under CEC (by leveraging my 1 yr canadian experience, as you advised earlier).

The confusion is about TRV and WP both have same expiry, so both to be renewed or only the latter? if both then where I need to submit PP while I would be in Canada already?
Only your WP will have to be renewed. However, if you travel outside Canada and have to re-enter, you will have to get the visa renewed too.

I need advice ... my application was submitted on 6 jan 2017 for spousal sponsorship of my husband who is outside of canada.

Medical requested was in Oct 2017. In November 2017 they asked for PR fees and documents from past employer. Submitted those as well. Now waiting since then.

I contacted my MP (jan 15 2018) and they sent a request for an update to London visa office to which they responded that the file is in security check. The eligibility and medical is Passed.

How long should I wait or should i apply for gcms notes on file. I applied through a lawyer but he is asking 300 cdn $ to do that .... Can I apply it on my own?.
You can request the GCMS notes on your own, there is no need to go to your lawyer for that.

I am in the EE pool since Nov 2017. Currently my score is 416 but it will be 441 from April 1. Thus, I hope to get an ITA with that score in April.

Recently, I got a job offer (Postdoctoral scientist, LMIA exempt) for one year at University of Alberta with start date as July 1.

I am currently in Denmark but am from Nepal. That way, my permanent address is in Nepal where my parents live.

I learned that one of the conditions for getting a temporary residence permit (work-permit) is that one has to leave Canada at the end of the contract unless the employment is extended. I certainly will do that if I do not get a PR or can't extend the employment. However, with an EE profile I have already expressed my interest to immigrate permanently to Canada. In this situation, what are the credible reasons to show that I still have connection to Nepal and will return to Nepal after my work permit expires.

Do you think I will be in problem if I apply for work permit before/after having received an ITA?
If your application has not beed filed (post ITA) you do not have to disclose that you will file and application. Being in the pool does not amount to having an intention to immigrate. It only becomes a positive intention when you file your application post ITA.

Hello @legalfalcon

I have 2 things to ask.

1. Since AOR for PR till getting PPR, what variation in bank balance are acceptable? I mean when I applied for my PR (after ITA) my bank balance was like 22,000 CAD and then account started to run and it went below 22,000 like 21,000 and then again back on 22,000+. Minor variations in account balance are acceptable during AOR to PPR? Or that account should be sealed and must not be used?

2. First, I did a BS(3 year) program, then I applied for BSc Honor (4 Year) program in UK and there I completed my graduation 4 years after studying only one year (Credit Transfer policy). So, 3 years in Uni A and 1 year in UK. I got BSc 4 year Degree from UK. In my PR profile, I did not write that 3 year program from previous Uni and even in EE profile. In fact I just did not mentioned it any where in my case like in Personal History as well. My ECA from WES says 4 year Grad from UK. This degree is like when you get your credit transferred and then complete your degree in other Uni.
Is it ok? Or you think I should contact CIC to update them about it? If yes, then how can I update them? any good advise please?

It has been 60 days since AOR, and my file is with Local Visa Office, London. Most probably R10 done, should I contact them for my degree?

Thanks

1. That will not be an issue as long as you show where the money cam in from and try and keep it up with the requirement. You can even invest the money, but it has to be somewhere from where you can readily liquidate it.

2. you should have mentioned it in your personal history.
