Temporary Residence Visa Application

Hi,

I have applied for a temporary residence visa which I posted a good 3-4 weeks ago now and I have had no response from immigration to confirm that they have received the application or are processing it.

I do not have an application number, just a UCI number and i have paid the fee to apply.

I have left numerous enquiries with them but had no response and I am due to fly to Canada on 20th June for 2 weeks.

I applied for a temp residence visa due to my ETA being rejected for a conviction earlier this year for a driving ban.

i am also unable to link my application online, and right now I really do not know where to go with this and it is getting very close to departure date.

Can anyone advise on what i should do?

Did you apply for a TRP (Temporary Residence Permit) because you're inadmissible? What was the driving ban for?

Thanks for your response.

I applied for a Temporary Residence Visa because my ETA was rejected due to the driving ban. It was driving under influence of alcohol and I was banned for 9 months which will have been completed around August time and I will be able to drive again.

Just to clarify, it was the TRV application form I used but question 3 I checked the box to indicate that I am applying for a TRP.

You are criminally inadmissible to Canada because of your DUI conviction. You will need to apply for criminal rehabilitation to enter. But, you are not eligible to apply now. You will be deemed to be rehabilitated if you don't have any further convictions for a minimum of five years after you complete the current sentence

In the meanwhile, your chances of getting an approved TRP are almost nil as your conviction is very recent + you have not completed the ban
