I would not prefer you requesting ur passports back at this crucial juncture because ur processing time is almost done and it would definitely interrupt the process.
Who knows after u getting ur passports they will mail to requesting ur passports or not??
It would further delay ur processing time. I can understand this delicate situation u r in.. but end of they day everything will be fine.

No.. I don't think they will reply. as the information is present in their Website.
They are very selective in replying to the emails i guess. Lets wait for a week more and see the progress in ur application. OR else you can send them another inquiry in the month end to check ur status.
But i do believe, by this wed you will get some news. lets see
