I dont understand. how are we going to reach clb 7 with only one point??

You are still thinking in terms of the old marking (3 points for good answer, -1 for wrong, multiply by blah blah, and voila here is your score!)

Nobody really knows how the new marking works.

Cheers ;)

It s better when we can calculate our score. Voila, that's why im asking. The test is 400 dollars!! If nobody knows how it works how can you trust the results?

Well, I simply trust my skills, preparation and ability to do well.

I think of it as just another standardized test for me. I never knew how the IETLS was marked and yet I aced it.

I see where you're coming from but I don't know if there's any information regarding the new marking.

Cheers ;)

Well there nothing i can do. I trust my abilities but as a teacher and curriculum designer it does not seem very fair to me. ielts everything very clear nothing is left in the air. But i guess that s the way things are

there is a speculation that since it is an adaptive test now, then maybe different difficulty questions are marked differently.

Contact the Chambre de Commerce et d'Instrutrie in Paris, they might tell you how it works.

I did the test without any idea of how it worked, but I can understand your point.

I did the e-TEF a few days ago, after learning french from scratch for a year I got

C1 - Comprehension ecrite
C1 - Comprehension orale

I'll have to wait couple weeks for the results of the other 2 sections.

Cheers ;)

when I was on one.
French is not my native language. here it how it was for me:
1. Listening - much better than IELTS - every dialogue was given 2x, so first time you could listen and second check for whatever you did not catch the first time. First listening tasks were very easy and then more difficult followed.
2. Reading - again first texts were short and very easy ones. But there were also some fairy difficult with rarely used words
Both of those tasks were made on computer, so you could check your timing and even finish before hand.
3. Writing - 2 tasks, 1 was to finish article, this was again nothing that difficult (it was more like story in newspapers).
4. Speaking - 2 topics and there were 2 examinators which made it much easier as one could concentrate on the role (both were some dialogues) and other could observe.

Bottom line it was manageable.

You are Spanish speaking. Of course it would have been easier for you.

I took it seriously and put the hard work, I didn't obtain those scores just by being a spanish speaker.
I see. But it was not a scratch really, was it? These languages resemble a lot (it took me 4 months to learn intermediate Spanish with fluent French).
So you already had an advantage from the very beginning.
