My PGWP is valid till October 2015. It clearly states that I cannot take up any vocational training, courses or programmes unless authorized to do so.

I have already worked one year on my PGWP and my cec application has been submitted.

I have to take up a course for four months (once a week) and wondered if anyone has been in this situation and what have you done.

How do I get authorization? How do I register at college for this course? It starts in March 2014.

I would like to go back to the same college where I completed a two year programme as an international student.

Please seniors or anyone please advise.

you have to give up your PGWP and have to apply for study permit again.
if you want to continue working, you can apply for off-campus work permit
but in order to apply for off-campus work permit, you have to take full course load and can only work up to 20 hrs a day

but in your case, you might not need a study permit because its only a short-term course
"http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-who.asp"
it seems as if you are taking a course that lasts less than 6 months, you may not need a study permit
i would still double check with cic just in case. call the call centre and ask to be sure
regarding how to register for the course, you are better off contacting the school you'll be attending :p

Thank you for your response and input.

I was thinking along the lines that if it is a course less than six months - I should be good to go.

I will contact the college and see how it goes.

This isnt correct. You DONT have to give up your PGWP. You can take any course thats less than six months of duration without needing a study permit. But if you are expecting your course to be more than six months you can apply for a study permit. This has nothing to do with your work permit. I am sharing this from my own experience.

Hope it helps and good luck in your course.
Well wishes.
