Hi.

I have just applied for Canadian passport. Regarding the surrender certificate, is it necessary to have Canadian passport before applying for it? Or I can apply without Canadian passport?

Also how much time are they taking to process the application these days ?

I'm curious as to what an OCI is, but you are obviously looking for an answer from someone who has had the experience of surrendering his or Indian passport and that is not I. Sorry.

India doesn't allow to keep Indian passport once we get foreign citizenship. To enter India on foreign passport, you either need a visa or an OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India).
