CIC will be looking for consistency in your documents. If you have not provided any details as to why your surname is different in certain documents. This will very likely be a problem.

I would suggest you get a lawyer affidavit stating that the different versions of your name are yours.

But regarding your application, I have no clue. Im not sure how you will be able to refer to your application until you get your AOR.

Pray that they send give you an AOR and then ask you for clarifications

Hi Pal,
i had kinda same problem. I don't have a last name on my any of documents. But my family name was used as an Alias at bank and during an accident. I came to know about it after I applied that my bank had an alias last name. I simply just emailed cic regarding the situation to avoid any confusion. I guess you can do the same. Atleast you will have a say that you told them regarding this matter earlier than they ask you any question.

You should not have any problem as long as you use the same surname in the application form and it is in the passport as well.

Good luck.

Surname = Family Name = Lastname

At least that is what I have seen all around. In my country we don't have Anglo name structure so we also have lots of confusions with first middle last name structure.

What does your passport say? Stick to that. Many forms have the question "have you used any other names..." and there you put any other names used on any other documentation you have.
