Hi there, planning to apply for my parents’ super visa this weekend after their visitor visa got rejected last Oct. All documents are pretty much ready including their CA certificate, property docs, bank statement, etc, as well as my income docs which are well above LICO requirements. Would a few of you help answer some questions since I’m applying myself and not through a consultant:

1. Did you guys use the old IRCC portal or new one?
2. Was it just standard reason of spending family time and tourism for 6-12 months?
3. If any of you had previous visa rejections, how and where did you address this on the application? Was it on the cover letter too?
1. Old portal
2. Yes. I just put that they will be coming and staying with me for few months and we'll go explore hotspots in Canada (banf, lake Louise etc)
3. Was my first application

I haven't heard anything back after this. Did you guys' parents have previous applications with IRCC or US visitor visa? It's my parents' first ever application with IRCC. I'm wondering if that's the reason for the difference

Processing in most cases takes many months. Either your application gets processed by primarily AI or has to be manually processed which takes significantly longer. It is far less common to get processed within a month versus many months. Things that may lead to faster processing are previous visits and return home without any immigration problems to Canada or other 5 Is countries, history of significant international travel, high level of personal savings, traveling without all dependent family members, being employed, short visit duration, etc.
