Hi Everyone,
I am a PR in Canada and I have submitted application for Super-visa for my Mom online.

the details are as follows:

Country of Applicant : India
Upfront Medical : Jan 2021
Application Submission : Mar 2021
Biometrics : July 2021

I have a few questions
1. What to expect after this?
2. Has anyone received approval for super visa who applied in 2021 from India?
3. Could you please share your timeline here as well.

I would really appreciate any information you have, even if it is just the timeline or if you could share your experience.

Hi Naitik91,

I am in a similar situation as you and my apologies as I don't have any answers for you but do have a few questions.

  1. Were you able to apply online from within Canada? My understanding is that parents need to apply and need to be outside Canada.
  2. Any suggestions where to buy the insurance packages.
Any pointers here will be much appreciated.

Cheers.

well, My mom submitted the application online and I guided her through it.
She is in India.

You can contact any good insurance broker that you know in your community.
I suggest to find an insurance from your own community because he/she might be able to help you understand better what suits your needs in terms of insurance coverage.

You should purchase a policy from one of the large insurance companies in Canada. The supervisa insurance policies are basically the same although read the fine print. They are emergency medical coverage where emergencies related to preexisting conditions may be excluded depending on the instability of the health issue in the months before travel. There is no need to go through a broker or a community member. The policies are essentially dictated by the government so cultural needs aren’t a factor. Get quotes from the largest Canadian insurers. There is no need for a broker.

I bought from Manulife. 69M and 59F, with pre-existing condition cost me $5050. From all the available options, I found manulife to be the best as they provide cashless/ direct billing and better customer service.

With or without the broker the price from the big insurance providers in canada is the same price. I might as well let a friend make some commission on the sale. Buying directly, I'm not getting any discount, maybe you'll earn some goodwill or cash rebate by billing this policy with your friend.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing that information. Very helpful . Is that cost inclusive for both parents?

Yes, for both of them.
This is a requirement to submit your application. And this premium is applicable only from the date they land, no matter how much in future the date be. And in case of rejection this amount is refunded. Since any which ways, my parents will need the insurance upon arrival, I think it is better to be done with it and go ahead practically. rather than losing time.

Hello All, My Mother's supervisa medical passed on July 5th'2021 after that got a correspondence letter from IRCC saying Biometric Validity of 10 years, since then there is no progress, its almost more than 1.5 months passed.

Usually I saw in everyone's timeline after medical passed they dont keep too long within 1/2 week the send the passport request but for me they dont send yet.
And what about that correspondence letter IMM5825_2-VWA6N91 , do I have to do anything with that?
I am so worried about the delayed, I tried to call them but no one picks, send one general web form but no response.

Anybody please give any information regarding this would be very helpful.

Thank you.

It can take up to 6 weeks to get a final decision. I would say to be be patient for a few more weeks. Hoping to hear good news. All the best!!!
