Submitting New Evidence

Hi Guys

I am applying from Quebec, Canada. I'm just wondering if anyone tried to submit more evidence to build the case for a genuine marriage after submitting to CIC-M. I haven't received an AOR yet. However, once I recieve it, I will have to apply for Quebec's Selection Certificate. During this time I will use the file number provided in AOR to send the documents (chats, birthday cards, MoneyGram receipts).

After reading couple of posts here, it seems like it's better to send more evidence than necessary to convince a complete stranger i.e. the Visa Officer.

What do you guys think?

I am also trying to gather more evidence. For our case, we did not have many evidences, such as photos and joint account. But we have been living together over 2 years (I have evidence only from February 2011). I've been just too busy with school to think much. We are going to open a joint bank account, where utility bills will be invoiced, will write a will, etc. I hope these will produce our case stronger (to the eyes of CIC officers)

when we applied to mississauga,honestly i didnt provide much evidence - few pictures, few phone cards, some pictures from wedding....that was all. As a sponsor i was approved within a few months.....

I'm more worried for the second stage, my part of evaluation as an applicant... We are not married. We are common-law. I think the hurdle is higher for common-law?

Few years ago when we were bf and gf, not married, more like common law, we tried that but as a tourist to visit me in Canada and we submitted a bunch of stuff even thought we didnt have much since we lived apart prior to applying for a visitors visa.....we got declined reason being we didnt have enough evidence that he would come back to homeland. It may be irrelevant to your case, but i would assume as common law, you would need more proof that your relationship is going in serious direction...sorry i blabb too much.......

So is it good idea to send it to CIC-M or wait until the file is transferred to Singapore?

My understanding is that the stage 1 is just for sponsor whether or not she or he is eligible, and the second stage is where our relationship is evaluated. So I would gather more photos (and in my case financial interdependency, which I do not personally think important but for their criteria, I suppose it is, such as joint account, joint property ownership, etc.) and send them to outland VO.
